I liked it very much as well.

For those who like it, I propose you also see the similar-themed The Last Winter

I've wanted to see this movie for some time, but being somewhat skeptical for no reason. But I will see it as soon as possible.

    Right now, I'm watching:

    Jurassic Park: The Lost World

    Awesome movie.

I watched "Der Rote Baron" (The Red Baron) yesterday. It was also filmed in english Language so everyone around the World who doesn't like to read Subtitles can watch it.

    10/10

    Here is the German Trailer:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fF6hoeunXVE

    Here is the English One:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoVUU3b3S7M

There is alot of stupid Critism mostly by People who don't want to see German Heroism. Those who think Hero-Movies are only accepted for American Heroes, and not for the other Sides of War.

Anyway, The Movie was really good, it showed that War is gruesome and sad. It didn't have any Sex-Scene and wasn't as filled with Love-Scenes as Movies as "Pearl Harbour".
It showed alot of very well made Plane Dogfights, alot of the eerie devasted Landscapes of World War 1. It also contains some good Humor aswell and doesn't get boring.

The only Thing i didn't like about the Movie was that you didn't see the Barons Death, But at least his Grave.

The Chronological Order of the Scenes and Actions was historically correct.

I give it 10/10 because the Romantic-Scenes were not too long and not as irrelevant as in many Hollywood-Movies and else it was great.

Go and watch it! If you want to see finally a War-Movie from the other Side and not always of the American One.

Quite good, 7/10! Action and romance, too.

Der Rote Baron sounds like a good Movie to watch. I don't usually like watching War Movies because they present the German Side ridiculously and exaggerate Allied Heroism. Pearl Harbour was too soapy for my Tastes. :o

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

I just watched Good Bye Lenin!. The recent GDR Debates on the Site made me curious as I had never seen it. In my Opinion, the Movie was too romanticised but it was a good Watch nonetheless.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm going to watch this soon:

    Beyond the Forest (2007)
    Alternate Title: Einst süß Heimat

    Director: Gerald Hauzenberger
Producer: Gerald Igor Hauzenberger, Arash, Géza Horvat
Austria, 2007, 75 minutes, Digital betacam pal, UK Premiere

A treat for the senses, this doc transports you to Transylvania, where a culture is dying. Director Gerald Igor Hauzenberger spent six years exploring Teutonic culture in Transylvania. As the German population of Transylvania nears extinction, Hauzenberger exposes the history of these curious émigrés by focusing his attentions on an embittered descendent of the original Saxon settlers and a world weary woman of Landler stock who spent five years in a Soviet gulag following the end of World War II. Their stories are poignant, while the doc's beautiful images will stay with you long after the credits roll.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

It sounds very interesting to see my Culture and the Plights of my People explained in a Movie.

I'm so happy! Look what I found at the videostore today:

@Gag: This is what I tried to send you :p We've seen it now, and although the animations are crappy and seems low-budget, it was really true to the book We should rent it when I come home next week Besides, I would have hated too see it become a Hollywood success (if they had decided to make a real movie, not an animated one), it's too precious!
