For those of you who've seen Valkyrie, please give some feedback. I have been wanting to see it but at the same time I am reluctant because of my dislike for Tom Cruise and his Hollywood affiliations.

I recently saw Watchmen and I was surprised in a positive sense. I had expected it to be good, but still far from equal to the comic; and of course I wasn't as good as the comic, but it was pretty close. All the backstory, the flashbacks etc was handled much better then I thought possible - the scenes that run through during They times they are a'changin' was truly superb - and the director did a good job presenting the characters.

I Haven't actually seen this, I just happened to notice it collecting dust on the shelf at my video store. At first I wanted to burst out with laughter, but the laughter did not come. So I put it back on the shelf.

Looks like my kind of film. Low budget, gory, cheesy and uncompromising as opposed to the formulaic zombiefodder the major studios push on us.

Really? I found Doomsday to be really cool pulp-rubbish.

And Wanted was just übercool rubbish bathed in awesomeness.

One of the very less good recent German cinema movies. The story has a real background and the movie depicts the ongoings from back then in nearly every known detail correctly. It´s about the failed first attempt to climb trough the infamous Eiger-Nordwand (North Wall) to the top of the mountain.
The movie plays in 1936. Two Bavarians (Andreas Hinterstoisser and Toni Kurz) and two Austrians (Eduard Rainer and Willy Angerer) try to climb trough the northern face concurrently. But then fate takes over and the horror begins...

In contrast to these US Action-climbing movies like "Cliffhanger" the ongoings are shown in a realistic way. So you won´t see that people start climbing on a glacier only to reach some forest(!) 3 hours later and 1000 meters above.

8/10 points. The only bad aspect is that the main actors don´t speak Bavarian dialect but Standard German. That´s ridiculous when you know that both Hinterstoisser and Kurz were fully Bavarian and spoke with an extreme accent... Surprisingly, the two Austrians speak with proper Austro-Bavarian dialect in the movie.

I saw the Star Trek Movie and it has been my favorite yet, would had been perfect if it wasn't for the scene involving Uhura and Spock.
