I recently saw Dancer In the dark. One of the best, and most emotionally touching films I have ever seen. Please see this film.

I enjoyed it after I resorted to closing my eyes during the musical scenes!
Recently seen in the theater: War of the worlds -quite disappointing, Batman begins -utterly fabulous despite my sympathy with the bay guys intentions;-)
Constantine was quite enjoyable, Sin City (on video) was mostly wonderful (the third story line not nearly as great as the rest), The Machinist was very good but the slow pace annoying even though it worked for the story (Christian Bale is amazing! Despite this movie being done consecutively with Batman Begins he is almost unrecognizable in a fascinatingly disgusting way)

A rather peculiar choice of casting where Björk stars as an east European girl.

Which country her role character comes from isn't very important for the story But sure, It would appear "less strange" if she played an icelandic girl. Beacuse of her accent.... Her accent is certainly not east-european

Im happy Lars von trier choosed Björk to play Selma, she's a fantastic actor.

A very desolate feeling afterward, lying in the dark, trying to sleep.
That's interesting, I didn't know Merchant in Venice would leave that impression. I know of the storyline of course, but nothing more. What gave you that "it's a trick"-feeling? Do they show the Jew to be a swindler, and manipulate people?

I'd love to answer, but to do so I would have to reveal the story line, which might spoil the film for those interested in seeing it. You'll just have to see the film yourself.

Ive only seen "the Brothers Grimm" last week. I don't go to the theaters that often really(on average once or twice per year), largely because of lack of time, money, and interesting movies that get released.

I fell alseep while watching "Hero", I didnt care for it. From now on, Im no longer watching ANY martial arts films, they're so full of shit!

Com'on, why on earth would an entire army attack a caligraphy school of all places? And the thing with Jet Li and that girl thwarting those archer barrages, yeah sure why dont you try that sometime.

Sorry, Im the type who prefers some sense of realism when it comes to fighting in movies. Hence why I cant stand martial arts and most "action" films.

The last movie I saw was Final Destination. I don't think I have ever seen a movie that bad. An unbelievable story, poor dialogue, terrible death scenes, and cardboard characters. Why there ever was a sequel is beyond me. Don't waste your time with this nonsense.

Two days ago, i've seen "The Duellists" (Ridley Scott, 1977). In its kind, a memorable and sophisticated work without dubt ; introspective opera, pervaded by an impressive human "light" and, a moral sense which overwehlms everything. Amazing lights; deeply evokative of an entire age.
