Den skyldige / The Guilty (2018) - Gustav Möller

Well, this was a pleasant surprise!

Almost the entire movie is this police at a Danish emergency service center talking to a distressed parent, which sounds boring, but is quite intense.

Several police have written reviews at IMDb and complained about the lack of realism at this emergency service center, but the film is about one man's road to redemption so any and all artistic licence is excused.

    7/10

    The vanishing

Gerard Butler (HUNTER KILLER) and Peter Mullan ("Ozark") star in this tense, action-packed thriller based on true events. After three lighthouse keepers arrive for work on a remote Scottish isle ...

Avengers Endgame. I was mainly disappointed with Thanos tossing overboard his balance philosophy upon discovering that the Avengers time traveled to undo his designs. His whole life was committed to maintaining the balance and with his decision to annihilate the world in order to rebuild it, he becomes closer to his comic book counterpart, a caricature of death itself.

On the other hand, the humour was solid (i.e. Thor and Hulk. Despite most of the GotG cast being absent), the Stan Lee cameo was great as usual, and I liked how they poked fun at the concept/absurdity of time travel. Next to the show Legion, I think Marvel has handled the time travel aspect quite well.

I'm glad not everyone made it out alive (even with the erased being brought back), time travel tends to nullify the impact of deaths. Time travel can also mark the decline of a series/season (i.e. Continuum), especially if it's rushed.

My two gripes with this film would be the scene where everyone unites against Thanos while coming out of the portals (it certainly was a stirring sight with suitable music, but if unity was all it took to defeat a great threat, then this world's problems would be resolved by now. At the very least, it wasn't a coalition between heroes and villains) and the scene where all the female fighters stand together (Disney agenda?). It's a shame that the "reunion" between Star Lord and Gamora was rather one-sided, due to the latter not having the memories of her future self.

"The Dogs of War" for the umpteenth time.

Aside from an ever increasing number of mortals who have willfully chosen to worship Satan and his minions, our battle has always been against the powers and principalities operating surreptitiously throughout this twisted world.
