    Post Races in Wales

A few days ago I saw something interesting in the TVG Channel:
a Galician journalist travelling around the Celtic Countries. The last episode was about Wales, one could see the people, landscape and traditions of this Great Land. And suddenly, something stranged...
The traveller arrived a fishing village-in an island in front of the Welsh coast-and met a man. He was not like the other Welsh people had met before: blond, red or browned hair, pale skin and light eyed. In fact his hair and eyes were darked and his skin tanned. "Is he Welsh?" I asked.
Very probably yes, because he started speaking the Welsh language when the traveller interviewed. If he were an inmigrant he would speak english and not welsh.

Then I remembered something that Tacitus, the Great Latin Historician, wrote about the tribes in Wales when describing them. The ones living in Southwest were like this man, many others with a nordid looking.
And this in the Century I AD. All this in the book "Agricola", a biography of Tacitus' father-in-law.

His complete working at http://www.thelatinlibrary.com/tac.html (Latin)

and almost complete at http://classics.mit.edu/Tacitus/ (English and downloadable)

These people are common in Wales, Ith.
    Think of Catherine Zeta Jones.
Tacitus described the Silures as being swarthy with dark hair that tended to curl.
They are probably of Atlanto-Mediterranian stock.

Actually, that is the kind I think of when I think of Wales, especially South Wales

The Welsh born Canadian actor Geraint Wyn Davies seems more of a blond haired blue eyed Anglo saxon or "germanic" than med.

The latter combination of pigmentation is much more common than the former.

Wales is predominately mediterranean in sub-racial composition with a significant UP component and minor Nordic.

Wales is not 100%Nordish as McCulloch claims.

I've wondered about this from pictures I've seen of the people of Wales. I don't doubt there are Meds there but I think there's a strong Alpinid presence as well. Further research is needed. Also, I think the majority of Celts were Alpinid and the people of Wales are of Celtic descent. So it makes sense.

EDIT: I think the Med element may be pre-Celt.
