Mad Extreme weather conditions are affecting all parts of Europe

    :yikes

Extreme weather conditions are affecting all parts of Europe.

    • In the UK, meteorologists predict a fair chance that the country will record 100°F (37.8°C) for the first time this week, beating the previous record of 98.8°F (37.1°C) from August 1990.

    • In Portugal nine people have been killed in the worst wave of forest fires in recent history. Western North America is also facing another bad year for burning forests.

    • In Switzerland, melting ice has contributed to a record number of climbing accidents in the Alps.

    • The heat in Germany has already cost agriculture more than 2002's disastrous floods, while in Spain the price of chickens has soared as the heat reportedly killed more than a million birds.

(hmmm coming out of an ice age heading twords the halfway mark and the planet is getting warmer, gee i wonder.)

    Get started, because I agree.
However, one doesn't take into the account our star, the Sun, is in such activity that has never been recorded before. Where do we get heat? The Sun! It has nothing to do with Earth. That is like blaming a Microwave for being set on high, instead of the person whom set it on high. If the Sun is in a situation of high activity then it ofcourse we will be heating up. :p

In the 1300s we had a warming period. A settlement was set up in Greenland. And then was wiped out because of a mini ice-age. Now things are going the other way. And in 50 years, scientists will be screaming about another ice-age.

    Tired

Well see thats the thing : 2 facts that the so called 'scientists' touting Global warming are leaving out:
    1) Increased solar activity in the last 40 years
    2) we are pulling out of an ice age ( if you know anything about curves you can guess what happens as you get closer to the center) so there should be a natural increase in average temperature ( and the small amounts we are talking about make sense for what is going on.)

Another thing that alot of people dont know : The guy who started this whole global warming trend, his original research pointed to global cooling, when his results were found erroneous he went out and started trumpeting global warming ( ie the source is not to be trusted!!)

One this is for certain is that countries such as the Netherlands will soon be wiped out if the sea levels keep on rising as they are now. Also, this strange weather such as the heat wave now and the floods last year will probably continue as well.

I agree with your statements (end of mini-ice age, see "Greenland", "Vynland", &c., and increased solar activity), but it does not mean that our increased CO2, FClCH, &c. output does not factor in and contribute to the global warming - how strong is the influence, or would you dismiss these factors completely?

Yes I would. How do we know we are producing excess CO2 (etc)?
We have only been recording such things for a milisecound compared to how long the earth has been growing.

    Ok first of all

FACT: The combined out put of CO2 by industry is LESS than the combined output from all natural sources.

Now because I DO believe in being balanced about things : FACT 1/3 of all CO2 consumption occurs in the south american rain forests. ( so by deforesting these areas we ARE causing some changes!!) But the reality is that these factors will balance out over the long run. The planet has built-in controls that handle these problems ( IE plants thrive animals die/animals thrive plants withdraw.) Another thing (i can't find the link!!) About three months ago they proved that enviornmentalists were wrong about the Ozone hole ( proving that it is apparently a natural formation occuring and reoccuring every few hundred years.(yes we may contribute to its growth, but once again, the planet has built in compensation. )

And personally I wouldnt mind seeing certain European countries becoming lakes anyway (actually only France.)

No my point is that these people are over-reacting, if we do nothing the world will compensate on its own. If we try to stop the 'problem' of global warming we will only find our efforts fruitless as the majority of the concern is solar and/or orbital related.

I do however support groups that want to stop deforesting of the South American Rainforests! ( JOIN PETP (sorry no web site yet) and yes it is People for The Ethical Treatment of Plants!)
