If Jesus did exist, which he didnt, would he be on our side:

    Mark 15:17
And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his head,

    15:18
And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews!

    15:19
And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him.

    15:20
And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him.

    15:25
And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.

    15:26
And the superscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS.

    15:27
And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left.

Heard this kind of thing before.... x_zzz
Streicher had an IQ of about 80, he was a complete embarrassment.

Regardless of that, Christ didn't really exist, and the Christ myth states clearly that he was a Jew and came to save the House of Israel... eyes:

Really? I've never read that. Anyway, Streicher is funny.

Noddy sits by the creek, fishing rod in hand, line in the water. Oh, what a relaxing day.

    Post @ Fionn

I have heard claims that he never existed. I am undecided on the issue. Could you please cite the evidence against his existence?

I'd do that as soon as I can prove that you don't exist.eyes:

Jesus per se most likely never existed. Several Messianic Jewish teachers preaching the imminent end of the world, coming of YHWH's kingdom, etc. were roaming Judea at this time. The Essenes were an example of this overall trend. Jesus was probably a composite of SEVERAL Jewish peripatetic philosophers/theologians.

Interesting. Also, I think that there are zero reliable first-hand accounts of his life. Do you agree?

Arthur Kemp lists 100 A.D. as the date of the earliest copy of any gospel (John, and it was bits and scraps) that we have. Surely none of the alleged inner twelve lived to that late of a date AND had any sort of clear memory (most likely none lived to that late of a date).

Not all the people living in the area at the time were jews. I entertain the notion that perhaps there were whites in the region that saw the spreading darkness, and wrote of it, only to have the whole thing hijacked by jews who added the OT. IMO, john is the only one that has any real poetic content, and that's how i look at it, existentially. I am a philospher, first and foremost.

Yes I agree. All of the Gospels are tatters of 3rd-hand rumors, legends, etc. pieced together awkwardly. Matthew and Luke are both basically Mark with random other passages inserted. John varies fundamentally from the other 3, in that, Noddy is right, but that doesn't make it true. John was also most likely the last written. Plausible dates I have seen for the gospels range from around 80 CE for Mark, 90-100 for Matthew, and 95-110 for Luke and 120-150 for John. This site: http://www.geocities.com/paulntobin/gospeldate.html
gives some good information, but there are others as well. I think we can safely say that none of the Gospel writers could have seen or heard any of the 'Jesuses' in person. Also consider that the AD dating system is off by 2-6 years, since Herod's reign ended in 2 BC at the latest, using more accurate and extensive Roman records.
