Online IQ Test

I took an online IQ Test. My score was 143, but I think that my IQ ranges between 120 and 140. The test can be found at: http://www.iqtest.com/ . You have to measure the time you took to complete the IQ Test, I used a stopwatch. This was the 2nd. time I took the test though I did reason each answer out, so that is why I think my IQ ranges between 120 and 140.

The IQ Ranges are as follows:

Average: 85 - 115
Above average: 116 - 125
Gifted Borderline Genius: 126 - 135
Highly gifted and appearing to be a Genius to most others: 136 -145
Genius: 146 - 165
High Genius: 166 - 180
Highest Genius: 181 - 200
Beyond being measurable Genius: Over 200

I dont trust online IQ testing. It's mostly stupid questions like
"how far apart were they?" with answers 3.5 or 4.5 crap like that. Im going to pay18 bucks for a MENSA IQ test.

Any IQ test that is generous with scores over 150 is automatically unscientific. There aren't even commonly accepted national IQ tests, and on the international scale the gap between those tests gets bigger and bigger.

I took about half a dozen IQ tests in school, the army, university, Mensa and two of my former jobs. There was a variation of about 15 points. I took one of those tests favored in the U.S. and scored 18 points more than on my best national score. So much for accuracy.

My own personal preference is the Eysenck test on which I scored in the 130+ range, so I assume I can't be that unintelligent.

That is interesting, since I haven't been properly nourished today. I scored 154 in junior high and 156 in high school.

I see they've taken other races into account when including IQ as low as 85 in the "average" category. eyes:

Ok, this test is not accurate at all. I know what my IQ score is. I won't give it, but I will say that it is somewhat higher than average.
On this test I scored ridiculously high (for me, anyway). 20 points higher than my actual score. I'm willing to bet that the intent of the creators of this test is to 'give' people a high score in order to goad them into buying the stuff they're selling on that site.

I agree. Every other test I have taken has put me between 135-145, this one was much higher! I don't know about a lot of these IQ tests.

The problem with these online tests is that everyone scores over average while almost nobody scores under par, which defies every statistical reality. (Yeah, I know that people who have Internet access are supposed to be more intelligent than those offline, although I cannot personally verify that.)

And of course every IQ test that does not exclusively consist of mathematical questions is culturally biased.

I always scored higher in he non-mathematical parts and because I was done with those questions quicker than usual I had some time left to deal with the more complicated maths questions. The order in which you answer the questions also tells more about your intelligence than your actual score, in my opinion. That's how they are designed.

I agree 100%. This is the 3rd online test I've taken. Each time, I've scored unrealistically high. The same thing has happened to 2 of my friends. One of them (not the brightest guy in the world by a long shot) is convinced his IQ is 145 because of some online test he took. I mean, we're talking about a guy who literally loses his train of thought in the middle of a sentence.
Obviously there is something not-quiet-right about these tests.
