The only way for most people to notice events: interpreted to them through books retrospect.

If you put the frog into a bowl of boiling water it jumps out. If the water is cold, and slowly heaten up, the frog will sit there and boil to death. To me you're this last frog; you would probably not detect a historical process happening, such as American demise ("fall" is like other cataclysmic, human fantasies derived from the boringness of ordinary human life), and it isn't suddenly nor straight-forward. Neither would many 'Fascists' detect fascism if it jump up and bit one in the ass. The political correctness has defined fascism, PC has defined how to merit development and progress of states, it defines how to value history; often one-linear and randomly so the silly Human may grasp it. And political correctness is human too.

Well, good luck finding your "fall" or "demise". You won't "see" it. Only read about it in a time when the 'Age of American Decline' has become PC enough in political life. It has happened though, and is happening; some things in human relations is meant to be, and it's logical that a relatively small, former European colony can't bear the burden of the world on its shoulder, especially not when preaching democracy and free-trade, which leads to the political and economical strengthening of Eurasian regions, where 85% of all humans live.
If people couldn't recognise demise there would be no history nor politics.

Of course they will, artificially that is, because that's everything China has to offer: an immense, nearly unlimited, amount of underpaid labourers. I've heard the Chinese openly admit and are generally very proud of it, in the higher 'layers' of society.

The maoists once faught 'capitalism', whatever that may've been in the dynastical China, but the argument that they've defeated the bourgeoisie is rather cynical as they've replaced it with one of the worst bourgeoisie upperclasses probably ever seen in the world before.

This will lead to a higher degree of machination which will result in mass unemployment and pauperization, social unrest, street crime etc. It is very unlikely that China will remain communist for a longer period of time.
China was never really "communist", it's mostly monarchic, a bit like North Korea, just with a very 'red' overall appearance. The 'regime-change', to put it in snappy terms, was only apparant in the beginning, when the Maoist-bulsheviks acquired power. Over time China has more or less restored itself to it's former self, as China was never a nation with 'democratic values' or anything close to that.

So the change was mostly about cosmetics; yet a good excuse for a nice coup d'etat for the communists.

I won't speculate about how long the current American political/constitutional order will continue to exist on its current geographic territory.

However, as far America's ability to maintain its historic status as a global hegemon is concerned, surely it can only last as long as America possesses the economic capacity to sustain its quantitative and qualitative military capabilities. I would suggest that the American economy, by every indicia one can imagine - erosion of the manufacturing base, devaluation of the currency, exploding trade and fiscal deficits as well as corporate and consumer indebtedness, structural underemployment of large segments of the labour force, etc. - seems to be heading toward a precipitous decline in the very near future. Should this result in a serious economic recession or depression (which incidentally would likely be global in scope), it becomes very difficult to see how America would be able to sustain even its current military capabilities for more than a decade, if that. A retreat from America's current attempts to impose military control on far-flung regions of the world will necessarily ensue, leaving a power vaccum that other nations will try to fill. In sum, I would be willing to wager that America will no longer be able to make any sort of plausible claim to hegemonic status, economic or military, by about the year 2015.

Whether another country such as China might be able to take America's place as a hegemon, or whether alternatively the world would endure anarchic or dark age conditions for many decades or centuries, is probably a sufficiently complex question to be worth debating on another thread.

The good old home of the Yankee Doodle Dandy is also dependent on the daily influx of money from evil communist and muslim countries, especially China and Saudi Arabia. If these evil countries don't push their real money into your shady investment schemes the U.S. will sink faster than the Titanic.
And all my youth passed by sad-hearted,
    the joy of Spring was never mine;
Autumn blows through me dread of parting,
and my heart dreams and longs to die.

    - Nikolaus Lenau (1802-1850)

Real misanthropes are not found in solitude, but in the world; since it is experience of life, and not philosophy, which produces real hatred of mankind.

Please note that I've split a good portion of this thread into the free speech forum.

U.S won't do more war for a long time
If by a long time you mean less than a year. British Intelligence is already aware of a US plan to attack Iran next year. North Korea is gathering supporters in their "promise" to re-unite the peninsula. But if that doesn't end up doing the United States in, it will be from within. Why would the government of the United States be acting the way it has for the past few terms? Especially with the media coverage. They are not fools. And if the government controls the media (as many signs point to) why would they allow it to show so many failures in action? It seems to me that there is an underhand movement to cause the citizens to lose faith in the governing body. And if this is the case, there must be some plan of action in place to take power after the fall. It does not make sense otherwise.
