I know some people will hate me for saying it but I can´t stand dogs. Only few dog breeds are acceptable to me, the rest is an unpleasant sight. I prefer cats in every aspect! They cuddle with you endlessly if they want, but they have their own head and a working survival instinct: Loving, but independent. Most dogs are quite dependent. And I just can´t stand FMDBO - Fast Moving Dangerous Barking Objects.

I think cats are definitely superior for many reasons. Mainly because dogs need people more than cats do. If people were to suddenly disappear from the face of the earth, your average domestic cat would be totally fine whereas a domesticated dog would not know what to do. There would be a few exceptions of course, my cat being one of them

    Neither is superior to me.

I have three dogs and one cat. My dogs look up to me with reverence, which is actually a nice feeling. My cat not so much. But she is also very loving, and I resent seeing these cartoons that depict cats as being capable of love only when they know they are going to be fed.

I'm a cat person so I voted yes, but I've nothing against dogs existing (feral dogs, like all feral animals, should be destroyed however); my dislike of dogs comes mainly from a couple of close encounters with dogs over the years, once in which a feisty German shepard latched onto my right arm when I was a teenager.

I really want a cat but to say that they are superior would be treachery

When I was a little kid, we still had the family cat. I loved her a lot, and was heart-broken when she had to be put down after losing her second eye after yet another cat-fight ... I just sometimes still wish I had shown her more affection, being the mischievous boy I was I had nothing better to do than to chase her through the yard and pull her tail when I caught her.

I am more of a dog person, though. We've been having a dog - and of last year two - with my family, and someone who's never had a dog cannot understand the holy bond between a man and his dog. Partners in crime, and there for each other in bad times. At this stage I cannot imagine myself not having a dog at any particular point in my life; though it must be said that as a Libran I place strong importance on aesthetics, and consider some breeds as outright ugly. If it's less than 35 kg, it's not a dog, either.

Oh, and the only thing that is more of a magnet for women to come running to get ten minutes of your time than one dog is two dogs, though two dogs and a little brother to look after tagging a long is yet worse.

Depends on your personal valuation system. when you like independency, cuddly,self-sufficient animals you will vote cat

When you like animals who are loyal, social, protecting etc you will vote dog.

It actually says more about you than the animal.

I am a dog person because the communication between dog and human can take amazing levels. There is a mutual understanding and fitting between your dog and you which is on a different natural level.

I also think close contact to a dog can elevate the dog beyond the animal level into the human realm.

    Cats Are Really Swell

No, cats should not even be discussed in the same breath as dogs, especially large-breed, highly intelligent dogs like Dobermans or German Shepherds.

Cats take up space, eat, and poop in nasty lil' indoor poop boxes. They jump up on cabinets and walk around on dining tables, spreading their poop-box filth and leaving disease trails wherever they walk.

Other than that, they're really swell.
