Post Who Here Has Relatives Who Fought in WW2?

I know there is more than one here that had family members in world war 2. My grandfather and his brothers all fought for Fascist Italy until the end, none of them died but some of them ended up in jail because of it.
    Anyone else?
Just close your eyes...can you remember
The generations not so long ago
I feel the shameless urge that we must restore
Our former king to his rightful throne
And with me lords and maidens
We wait for the chosen son's return

    I come alive
    It's a time for celebration
    Our will to restore
Make our past become the futre once more

Still he lives! 2000 years have passed
And still we're yearning for his return
    We fulfill a wishful prohecy
    And so the chanting begins
Hail Caesar...Hail Caesar...we render unto you
    What is still yours

My grandfather fought in the Royal Australian Air Force against the Japanese.
All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream at night, in the dusky recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity. But the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams, with open eyes, to make it possible.

My greatgrandfather fought and died in WWII,
my grandfather's brother fought and died near Stalingrad.
3 of my grandmother's brothers all fought in WWII. Everyone fought for the USSR. The interesting thing is that the 3 brothers that fought were taken prisoner by the Nazis and the Nazis were kind enough to reunite them. Of course when the war ended they were jailed in the USSR by Stalin for being taken prisoner or some other b.s. along those lines.

Forgot to mention that yet another great uncle fought in the war too, he made it all the way to Berlin. That's 6 people that I know of in my family that fought against the fascists.

Anyways wars are terrible in what they do to the families of the fallen soldiers. Especially if they have wives and kids.

My Grandfathers were both in Navy in Italy during the WWII.

Actually none of them was involved in RSI: one was continuing in the Navy in South Kingdom in alliance of USA and UK, and the other was a partizan of socialist guerrilla in NOrth of Italy.

Mad Re: Who here has relatives who fought in world war 2?

My paternal Grandfather was a gebirgs jager. His five brotehers all died in the war. Two were in the Panzers, one was Waffen SS underseceratary, one was a pilot, and one died in berlin at the end. My Maternal Grandpa was a U-Boat repairman in the Kriegsmarine, he was an Icelandic volunteer. My father was so proud of his father's service but our mother taught us to be. My brothers and I are reenacters and my youngest brother uses my a hand made copy of our Pappy Gehring's. Papa Martelsen was a volunteer in the kriegsmarines, he was proud of his service and his uniform is on display in my parents house.

We come from the land of the ice and snow from the midnight sun where the hot spring blows
Hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands to fight the horde sing and cry valhalla i am coming
On we sweep with threshing oar our only goal will be the western shore
We come from the land of the ice and snow from the midnight sun where the hot spring blows
How soft your fields of green can whisper tales of gore of how we calmed the tides of war we are your overlords
On we sweep with threshing oar our only goal will be the western shore
So now you'd better stop and rebuild all your ruins
for peace and trust can win the day despite all your losings
