    "Old Stock" Americans

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Stock_Americans

Apparently wikipedia calls "Anglo-Americans" like myself that are descended from the Founding 17th and 18th century original English/generally British colonists to be "Old Stock". How many here are fellow "Old Stock" Americans?

Besides you, lol. I had a little laugh at the wiki article because I coincidentally happen to be flying the 'Grand Union" flag of 1775 from my front porch right now.

Most of my ancestors were in the US by 1800. The exception were some Germans who arrived in the 1840s & 50s, 1/8 of my ancestry.

With some stragglers excluded, most of my ancestors were already in the colonies by c. 1750. Three quarters plus were already in Virginia, Maryland, and the Carolinas by the late 17rh century.

I suppose, by this definition, that I'm 1/4 to 1/2 "old stock" American. My paternal grandmother's family was mostly old stock from New England and my paternal grandfather's family was probably about half old stock from upstate New York. My mother's family all came from Germany and Norway in the 1800s.

Since y'all are doing your simple breakdowns, I'll do mine: 21/32 British America (7/32 New England, 6/32 South, 6/32 Canada, 2/32 Mid-Atlantic), 11/32 British Isles (9/32 England, 2/32 Ireland).

I flew my Grand Union at the EKU Trump rally and some cuckservatives cried out in ignorance about it. When repeatedly asked what it meant, I had to explain time and again that Washington flew this flag as Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army and that it was the first American flag (without going deeper than that for colonial predecessors). It unnerved them so much, even though they were supposedly Trump supporters. Across the street from Alumni Coliseum, the Trump haters were picketing and chanting, but only numbered less than a dozen, making me laugh in their faces. I really should have whipped out my Bloodstained Banner instead, even my St George or Three Leopards to watch all the meltdowns. Wrong side of the border to raise my Red Ensign, eh?

Half of the family is Old Stock arriving during the 1600's both from Bermuda and England. A few relatives were in the Royal Navy and sailed. We have always been fond of the nautical life as I have lived near an ocean for many years. I used to fish and sail regularly but finally started to try other activities. The other side of the family is German who came later in the late 1800's.
