If there were ever anything real about the old "moderate" Biden of the 70s-90s, it can't survive at the head of today's Democratic Party. The tiniest show of responsibility, only taken after his leftist immigration policies have manifestly, catastrophically, and immediately failed, will be lambasted as racist by shrieking Negro communists like this one. That said, it was fun when she told the truth about AIPAC. Find one Republican who will.

Biden Set to Push Critical Race Theory on U.S. Schools

Stanley Kurtz, National Review, April 19, 2021

The woke revolution in the classroom is about to go federal. In an early but revelatory move, President Biden’s Department of Education has signaled its intent to impose the most radical forms of Critical Race Theory on America’s schools, very much including the 1619 Project and the so-called anti-racism of Ibram X. Kendi.

Biden’s Department of Education has just released the text of a proposed new rule establishing priorities for grants in American History and Civics Education programs. That rule gives priority to grant “projects that incorporate racially, ethnically, culturally, and linguistically diverse perspectives.” The rule goes on to cite and praise the New York Times’ “landmark” 1619 Project, as well as the work of Critical Race Theorist Kendi, as leading examples of the sort of ideas the Biden administration wants to spread.

The programs immediately targeted by Biden’s new priority criteria for American history and civics grants are small. Once in place, however, those criteria will undoubtedly influence the much larger and vastly more dangerous “Civics Secures Democracy Act.” That bill would appropriate $1 billion a year, for six years, for history and civic education. Support for leftist “action civics” is already written into the priority criteria of the bill itself. I have argued that additional anodyne-sounding priority criteria in the Civics Secures Democracy Act — criteria favoring grants targeted to “underserved” populations and the mitigation of various racial, ethnic, and linguistic achievement gaps — would be interpreted by the Biden administration as a green light to fund Critical Race Theory in the schools. The new draft federal rule for grant priority in American history and civics education makes it clear that this is indeed the Biden administration’s intent.

The Biden administration’s interest in pushing Critical Race Theory on America’s schools could already be gleaned from the president’s repeated endorsement of the notion that America is “systemically racist.” Biden’s statements to that effect are actually cited in the new federal rule. It’s of interest as well that the new rule explicitly endorses the wave of woke Critical Race Theory currently sweeping through America’s schools. Biden’s new American history and civics rule also expresses support for “Culturally Responsive Teaching,” the ultra-woke and utterly politicized pedagogy derived from Critical Race Theory that was recently imposed on teachers in Illinois.

Above all, the federal “Civics Secures Democracy Act” must be stopped. Just as a combination of Obama’s Race to the Top grant program and federal regulations managed to impose the abysmal Common Core standards in math and English on nearly every state, the Civics Secures Democracy Act is designed to impose leftist action civics and Critical Race Theory on even red states. The state-level grant money is large enough that the leftist education bureaucrats who dominate even in red states will have a clear field to apply for federal funding. If conservative governors push back against grants that commit an entire state’s education system to action civics and Critical Race Theory, they will be slammed by Democrats, the education establishment, and the media for refusing badly needed federal dollars.

That is why it is urgently necessary for states to pass laws barring action civics and Critical Race Theory from the K-12 curriculum and teacher training. Without such laws in place, it will be almost impossible to resist the carrots and sticks soon to be deployed by the Biden Education Department with the aim of forcing action civics and Critical Race Theory onto America’s schools.

He was already a proto-Communist then. I recall his rants against South Africa - and also his outright lying about it.

Fortunately he is quite busy with his own country right now, detrimental to Americans. On the pro side: I think this is going to destroy a lot of delusions.

Biden says fossil fuel workers should get new jobs ‘where they live’

President Biden on Friday said people who lose jobs in the fossil fuel industry as a result of environmental reforms must be provided new job opportunities “in the places where they live.”

Biden claimed in a speech at the White House that phasing out coal, gas and oil doesn’t require economic devastation in current energy-producing regions.

“As we transition to a clean energy future, we must ensure that workers who have thrived in yesterday’s and today’s industries have as bright a tomorrow in the new industries as well as in the places where they live and the communities they have built,” Biden told a summit of world leaders.

“When we invest in climate resilience and infrastructure, we create opportunities for everyone. That’s the heart of our jobs plan that I proposed to the United States. It’s how our nation intends to build an economy that gives everybody a fair shot.”

Republican critics panned as naive and insincere previous Biden administration attempts to reframe ending fossil fuel use as a jobs-creating opportunity, arguing there would be significant disruption in places like West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Biden’s international climate change envoy John Kerry stumbled at a White House press briefing in January when he said people left unemployed by Biden’s policies can “go to work to make the solar panels.”

On Friday, Biden called climate change “an opportunity to create millions of good-paying jobs around the world … and greater quality of life and greater dignity to people performing those jobs in every nation.”

He said the benefits would flow to “a line worker, electricians, utility workers laying transmission lines connecting battery storage and making the grid more modern. For automotive workers building electric cars, trucks and buses.”

Biden said economic changes would also help “skilled workers installing charging stations to accommodate them throughout our countries. Construction workers, engineers, insulators upgrading our schools and commercial buildings and constructing new energy-efficient homes. Manufacturing workers building nuclear and carbon capture technologies, solar panels and wind turbines, and people working in the fields that we haven’t even conceived of yet.”

He did not specifically address the fate of coal-industry and oil and gas workers, who can often earn six-figure salaries.

Biden’s more than $2 trillion infrastructure proposal includes significant proposed funds for renewable energy technology, including nearly $200 billion in proposed electric vehicle subsidies. Democrats may ram that bill through Congress with a bare majority under special budget reconciliation rules that bypass the usual 60-vote threshold for bills to pass the Senate.

Biden previously ordered a moratorium on new oil and gas leases on federal lands and canceled the Keystone XL oil pipeline construction project.

The Biden-hosted virtual climate change summit featured many major world players and Biden praised remarks from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“I’m very heartened by President Putin’s call yesterday for the world to collaborate and advance carbon dioxide removal, and the United States looks forward to working with Russia and other countries in that endeavor. It has great promise,” Biden said Friday.

Yet again, Biden's puppetmasters showing their utter contempt for American citizens through his confused drivel. Most of those "fossil fuel" workers are likely white men, so of course they don't matter in particular.

Biden policy to significantly limit immigration arrests at courthouses

Federal agents will no longer be allowed to carry out most immigration arrests at courthouses, following a change of policy announced by President Biden’s administration.

The new approach, announced Tuesday, scales back a Trump-era policy from 2018 that authorized routine apprehensions at federal, state and local courthouses.

In a statement, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said the previous strategy “had a chilling effect on individuals’ willingness to come to court or work cooperatively with law enforcement.”

“Today’s guidance is the latest step in our efforts to focus our civil immigration enforcement resources on threats to homeland security and public safety,” Mayorkas said.

Arrests may only be made in or near courthouses in limited instances: when it involves a national security matter; an imminent risk of death, violence or physical harm to any person; a hot pursuit of someone who poses a threat to public safety; or an imminent risk of destruction of evidence related to a criminal case.

The new measures are meant to balance the “fair administration of justice with legitimate civil immigration enforcement interests,” according to Mayorkas.

The policy is part of a larger shift in immigration policy under the Biden administration, which is rolling back many of his predecessor’s more restrictive policies.

However, some policies have been retained, including a public health order permitting CBP to quickly expel most people trying to enter the country illegally.

Meanwhile, also on Tuesday, Biden’s administration announced a crackdown on migrant smuggling in a plan dubbed “Operation Sentinel,” through targeted financial and travel sanctions, among other measures.

“Transnational criminal organizations put profit over human life, with devastating consequences,” Mayorkas said. “With the help of our federal and foreign partners, we aim to cut off access to that profit by denying these criminals the ability to engage in travel, trade, and finance in the United States. We intend to disrupt every facet of the logistical network that these organizations use to succeed.”

Biden Administration Limits Power of ICE to Arrest Immigrants in Courthouses

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is getting more than she bargained for in her effort to sway New York’s upcoming City Council races: a gleeful video takedown from a Republican foe.

When AOC’s Courage to Change PAC announced this week that the progressive firebrand was looking for locals to support in all 51 council districts, Councilman Joe Borelli (R-SI) decided to give it a shot.

“Let’s see if AOC and the socialists go with me this year,” the former Trump surrogate muses in a clip posted to YouTube Thursday.

Borelli got hold of AOC’s 29-page candidate questionnaire through a live link in the PAC’s press release — then filmed his incredulous reactions as he filled it out and sent it in.

“It just shows how absurd these people who want to govern us are,” Borelli told The Post. “It’s not a conspiracy theory anymore to say these socialists are trying to remake the city in their own image.”

Democratic Socialist AOC has used her PAC to shower cash on favored Democrats — doling out nearly $235,000 ahead of the 2020 elections and $155,000 in the first quarter of this year, according to the Federal Election Commission.

Her wide-ranging candidate survey coaxes council hopefuls into making a passel of progressive promises on national issues like the Green New Deal and abolishing ICE.

“It’s a City Council race,” Borelli comments in disbelief. “City Council — no control over any of this.”

In one question, Ocasio-Cortez pushes endorsement seekers to eschew donations from the real estate industry.

“I don’t understand why she demonizes people in real estate,” Borelli grumbles. “It’s as though AOC doesn’t live in an apartment or a house. Like she just went out back and built a yurt.”

Another question asks for a list of “three (3) in-district movement groups that you are organizing with,” to prove the candidate’s grassroots bona fides.

“I went to a Blue Lives Matter gala last week,” Borelli responds in mock confusion, typing in the name of the pro-cop movement. “I don’t know, Little League? Let’s just hit Next.”

Candidates are also asked for a 500-word essay on their “vision and goals for your term as New York City Council Member.”

Borelli’s snarky submission: “I hope to represent the needs and concerns of my constituents on the south shore of Staten Island, and generally oppose many of the far left and progressive policies that liberals on the city council may propose.”

The councilman is running for a second term in the deep-red 51st District, which elected him in 2017 with 80 percent of the vote.
