Should Wolves Be Reintroduced to Britain?

    https://www.theguardian.com/environm...lding-scotland

Article suggests reintroducing wolves to wild places of Britain, particularly Highland Scotland, would help restore natural ecosystems.
What do you residents of the UK feel about wolves returning to Britain?
We could use the wolves back to control deer overpopulation here in Kentucky, though it'll never voluntarily happen due to intensive livestock farming hereabouts and dense human habitation.
There were once two different kinds of wolves here, the common grey wolf, and the smaller, rarer, red wolf.
They were eradicated in the early 19th century in this area.

Restore a natural ecosystem? We have heard that here in Sweden too. The wolf was eradicated for a reason.

I would say that if we included the removal of certain human imports in the restoration of the ecosystem by removing some human imports, I could live with wolves.

But I cannot see that happening.

Wolves are dangerous predators that belong into nature reserves. They don't belong into cultured inhabited areas were they can endanger people, domestic animals and even rare natural animals.
