Even as gun violence breaks records in New York City, Chicago, and Philly, the Democrats don’t have much to say about the epidemic of shootings or their pet cause, gun control. While activist Democrat prosecutors like Attorney General Letitia James have neglected to deal with the violence and are instead targeting the NRA, they aren’t really talking about gun control.

Mass shootings are rarely mentioned anymore even though there are more of them than ever.

A Washington D.C. mass shooting at a cookout last month that wounded 20 people was treated as another local crime story. And there are a lot of these local crime stories as shootings rise.

New York City has blown past 1,000 shootings, of all kinds, individual and mass, Philly hit 1,300, and Chicago is approaching 3,000 shootings.

3 Democrat cities alone will soon account for some 5,000 shootings.

These are the kinds of numbers we used to see out of Iraq. Now we see them in America.

The Gun Violence Archive recently tweeted that it “had never totaled more than 60 mass shootings in a single month – it has now eclipsed that number for four straight months, and September is on pace to do the same.”

From 2014 to 2019, there was an average of 348 mass shootings. 2020 is far from over, but there have been 438 mass shootings, and the Gun Violence Archive estimates it will hit 590.

In just the first 8 days of September, there were 21 mass shootings.

And these mass shootings are inescapably tied to the Black Lives Matter violence that crippled police, wrecked public safety, and led Democrats to call for an end to cops.

Every full month in which Black Lives Matter riots and rallies took place has recorded more mass shootings than the first three months of the year combined.

There were 25 mass shootings in January and 95 mass shootings in June, the first full month of Black Lives Matter riots.

There were a total of 70 mass shootings in the first three months of the year and a total of 260 mass shootings in the previous three months which were filled with BLM violence.

Beyond the violence of the riots, which have included firebombs, shootings, stabbings, and multiple assaults on police officers, random drivers, shopkeepers, and anyone in the way, the Democrat political movement led cities to pull back police or tied up officers with the riots.

Gang members got the message and ramped up looting and territorial battles.

Between 2008 and 2018, murder was the leading cause for black men between the ages of 15 to 34 with over 55,000 dead. That’s over 10 times the numbers of US casualties in Iraq.

These are not normal numbers and they’re what we don’t talk about when it comes to gun violence. Gun control activists are eager to make suburban school shootings into the face of gun violence. Gun violence doesn’t come out of suburban schools, but urban ganglands.

That’s why the Democrats aren’t talking about gun control during the worst epidemic of gun violence in years. That and the reality that gun violence is associated with their support for BLM.

Cities that had fairly low levels of crime and were at the epicenter of the riots, Portland, New York City, and Austin, have achieved staggering increases in shootings and murders.

In Portland, where there have been over 100 days of Black Lives Matter riots, shootings shot up from 299 for all of 2019 to 488 for the year so far. In the first month of BLM protests, shootings nearly doubled from 31 in 2019 to 61. In August, the shootings nearly tripled relative to 2019.

In Austin, the murder rate rose 67%. At the end of August, the city recorded 3 murders in 24 hours. A homeless woman was shot when 60 hurricane evacuees began fighting in the street and shooting each other.

“We know we have at least 23 rounds discharged last night,” Chief David McKichan mentioned at one press conference.

In New York City, shootings rose 140% since the period roughly overlapping with BLM riots. And murders rose by over 50%. Behind those numbers are 90 murder victims. They’re part of the political price that Mayor Bill de Blasio and New York Democrats paid for their support for BLM.

In the first full month of Black Lives Matter rallies and riots, the number of daylight shootings in New York City more than tripled. Daylight shootings are a mark of brazen gang violence.

By August, 43 people had been shot in 48 hours, and 3 people had been killed in one day.

Democrat leaders have responded to the wave of violence by decriminalizing it and attributing it to the effects of the pandemic and to social inequities.

“Gun violence is a symptom of social ills,” Portland City Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty, who had falsely blamed police for setting fires, insisted.

“It’s been an exhausting 100 days for our city. But may I remind everyone just how exhausting it is to live while Black in America. Let me remind folks that the civil rights movement lasted a lot longer than 100 days and make no mistake – today’s struggle against police violence and creeping fascism is the new civil rights movement,” she wrote, cheering 100 days of BLM terror.

Exhausting is one way of putting it. July was Portland’s deadliest month in three decades.

The BLM riots aren’t just a struggle session or cancel culture. They’re doing a lot more than terrorizing diners or burning down stores. The BLM riots and movement are killing people.

Democrats had spent years falsely claiming that guns, rather than criminals, kill people. Now they’ve moved on to blaming gun violence on social ills that will be remedied by defunding police and shifting even more money into the same broken and corrupt welfare state.

Crime, like homelessness, will just become another fact of life, if they have their way. Every increase in crime will be met with more welfare spending and less police until every major city becomes an unlivable war zone where only the poor and the foolhardy still make their home.

Even now the cities that have gotten behind police defunding are suffering massive violence.

Not all that long ago, the Democrats ran on vowing to stop mass shootings. Now they don’t want to talk about them. And who can blame them? Few murderers want to confess their crimes.

Democrats lied about crime and the cops, and thousands of people were wounded or died.

In the latest example of federal authorities ramping up efforts to hold Portland rioters accountable, a 29-year-old woman was arrested and federally charged for allegedly punching a Portland cop in the face during a riot in July.

According to Justice Department court documents, Laurielle Yvette Aviles, of Portland, assaulted a police officer in an attempt to de-arrest a fellow rioter on July 3. She was charged at the time by Portland Police and was released on her own recognizance. The Multnomah County District Attorney’s office announced this week that Aviles is charged with one count of felony riot, one count of attempted assault of a public safety officer, one count of resisting arrest and one count of interfering with a peace officer. Following an FBI investigation, she now also has a felony civil disorder charge.

At the riot overnight on July 2–3, Antifa militants launched mortars, glass bottles, and rocks at law enforcement near the Multnomah County Justice Center and the Mark O. Hatfield. U.S. Courthouse. Nine people were arrested in total.

Aviles served as member-at-large for the Oregon Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf Board of Directors. Shortly before her riot arrest in June, she was the sign language translator for a Portland NAACP event featuring Oregon Gov. Kate Brown, Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler, and city council woman Jo Ann Hardesty.

She is outspoken against President Donald Trump on social media, asserting that a vote for his re-election in November is “an act of violence” against her and her “LGBTQ+ BIPOC” family.

Aviles surrendered to the U.S. Marshals Service on the federal felony charge on Tuesday and made a first appearance in federal court before a U.S. magistrate judge on Wednesday. She was released pending further proceedings. If convicted, Aviles faces a maximum sentence of five years in federal prison.

Black Lives Matter activists have taken to the streets of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, demanding “justice” for 27-year-old Ricardo Munoz, who was killed by police after he charged at an officer with a knife.

People have been flooding to the police station in Southwest Lancaster City, chanting “Don’t shoot” and other BLM slogans after an officer-involved shooting earlier in the day.

Footage on social media shows protesters smashing windows and jumping on a police car, as one of the gathering’s leaders announces that “BLM riots” have kicked off in the city.

Facing backlash over the shooting, Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office released body cam footage from the incident. The video starts with a woman running out of the house screaming. In the next second, Munoz rushes out of the door with a knife in his hand and charges at the responding officer, with the latter firing several shots at Munoz, who then falls to the ground.

Munoz was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lancaster DA said that they have been “investigating” the shooting to determine if the use of force was justified, but noted that the preliminary investigation indicates that the knife-wielding victim posed a immediate danger to the officer’s life before being killed.

“The footage shows that when the officer gets in front of a residence in the 300 block of Laurel Street, Munoz immediately emerges from inside and runs toward the officer, brandishing a knife above his head, in clear view, in a threatening manner.”

the incident “in a timely manner,” urging protesters to “remain peaceful” since “violence and destruction of property will become headlines and serve no purpose for the safety and wellbeing of our citizens and neighborhoods.”

The incident took place around 4:15 pm local time, as the officers were responding to an alleged domestic disturbance.

While there is nothing in the DA’s message to suggest that Munoz was mentally incapacitated, activists have alleged that the man was autistic. Protesters have also accused police of leaving the his body lying in the street “for hours” before it was taken away.

A man with the same first and last names as Munoz stabbed four people in Lancaster in March last year. At the time, police said that the suspect refused to drop his knife when ordered by officers, but was eventually taken into custody. His trial was to start tomorrow.

Black Lives Matter mob blocks emergency room for L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies gunned down Saturday night.

On Saturday night, two Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies stationed their patrol car near the Willowbrook Metro station in Compton. At approximately 7 p.m., a masked gunman appeared to walk past the vehicle then turned and fired multiple shots, hitting both deputies.

Fox News Los Angeles reporter Bill Melugin obtain video of the shooting and confirmed a “100 percent ambush. A man slowly creeps up to the vehicle like he’s stalking it, fires shots through the window.” The Sheriff’s department posted the video and Sheriff Alex Villanueva held a press conference wearing a bullet-proof vest.

The ambushed deputies were a 24-year-old male and a mother of 31, both recent additions to the department. “I want everyone to have a prayer for them for their recovery at this time,” the sheriff told reporters. “This was a cowardly act,” Villanueva said, and “words have consequences,” a reference to anti-police rhetoric now raging in Los Angeles and across the country.

As Villanueva wrapped up, a mob confronted sheriff’s deputies, with one member shouting “It’s a celebration! It’s a celebration!” Others taunted deputies and took videos with their phones. As this played out, the ambush victims encountered other conflict at St. Francis Hospital in Lynwood.

A Black Lives Matter mob assembled outside the hospital chanting “Death to police!” The mob blocked entrance to the hospital emergency room, where family members of the wounded officers were present. “I hope they fucking die,” one man yelled, with another adding “Y’all gonna die one by one. This ain’t gonna stop.”

As police struggled to disperse the mob, a woman ignored commands to stay back and interfered with an arrest. Unidentified in some reports, she turned out to be Jodie Huang a reporter for KPCC radio. Huang attended the sheriff’s press conference and did not identify herself as a reporter on arriving at the hospital.

KPCC is part of Southern California Public Radio, which proclaims, “as an organization we condemn systemic racism — and racism of any kind — and remain committed to reflecting the diverse communities we serve. With that in mind, we say the statement “Black Lives Matter” reinforces our commitment.”

In July, Huang tweeted, “Black Lives Matter is a spiritual movement,” and authored a report on a BLM action at the Federal Building in Los Angeles, in solidarity with rioters in Portland.

“Longtime activist Akili had this message for federal authorities,” Huang wrote, “Do not come to L.A.!” Black Lives Matter also used the event, “to remind protesters what they were fighting for in the wake of George Floyd’s killing by a police officer in Minneapolis, and to urge unity against President Trump, as well as fascism and capitalism.” Black Lives Matter activist Janaya Future Khan told followers, “See yourselves as the movement, not adjacent to it. You are the revolution.”

President Trump, in Nevada for a campaign event Saturday, retweeted the video of the ambush, adding that those who perpetrate such attacks are “Animals that must be hit hard!” California assemblyman Reggie Jones-Sawyer, a Democrat and African American, told reporters, “this was an unprovoked, cowardly act. This individual will be caught.” Nick Hanna, U.S. Attorney for the California’s Central District, called the ambush “a cowardly and despicable act.”

Murdering police officers is standard practice for black radicals such as Joanne Chesimard of the Black Liberation Army. Now a fugitive in Cuba, Chesimard is known as Assata Shakur. As Black Lives Matter of Los Angeles proclaimed last year, “Assata’s words and living example serve as an inspiration to Black Lives Matter and ground us in our collective purpose, to fight for freedom and win.”

The shooting of the two deputies maintained the targeting of police, but the attempt to block the emergency room could mark an escalation to terrorist practices. In December 2015, for example, Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik murdered 14 people in San Bernardino and rigged bombs to take out the first responders. In similar style, blocking wounded victims from an emergency room strengthens the case that Black Lives Matter, like Antifa, is a domestic terrorist group.

The shooting of the deputies, followed by mobs at the press conference and hospital, suggests a coordinated action. Jody Huang, arrested in the BLM action at the hospital, also writes for LAist, which is part of KPCC and Southern California Public Radio. A publicly funded entity thus engages in open promotion of Black Lives Matter.

On Sunday, President Trump tweeted that if the deputies die, “fast trial death penalty for the killer. Only way to stop this!” Joe Biden tweeted “This cold-blooded shooting is unconscionable and the perpetrator must be brought to justice.” Kamala Harris, formerly attorney general of California, told reporters “the perpetrator must be brought to justice.”

Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti wrote, “we strongly condemn this cowardly ambush & stand prepared to offer aid.” Governor Gavin Newsom on Sunday denounced the “cowardly, horrific act” and called for the perpetrator to be “quickly brought to justice.”

At 7 a.m. Sunday, NBC News reported, both deputies were still alive and out of surgery. The Sheriff’s department announced a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the shooter, described as a 28- to 30-year-old black man wearing dark clothing.

Edinburgh University has renamed its David Hume Tower over the philosopher's "comments on matters of race".

The building, which will be used as a student study space this academic year, will now be known as 40 George Square.
An online petition claiming David Hume "wrote racist epithets" and calling for the building to be renamed has been signed more than 1,700 times.
The university said Hume's comments on race, "though not uncommon at the time, rightly cause distress today."
The decision was announced in a statement on the work of its equality and diversity committee and its race equality and anti-racist sub-committee.
It said its work had been "energised" since the death in the US of George Floyd and campaigning by the Black Lives Matter movement.
A number of cities have been reviewing the way in which public statues glorify figures associated with slavery and the colonial era, after a series of Black Lives Matter demonstrations.
In Bristol, a statue of slave trader Edward Colston was removed by protesters in June.
And in Edinburgh, it has been proposed to dedicate a controversial Henry Dundas monument to those enslaved because of his actions. New signage will explain that Dundas was "instrumental in deferring the abolition of the Atlantic slave trade".

A statement explaining the decision to rename the university's building said: "It is important that campuses, curricula and communities reflect both the university's contemporary and historical diversity and engage with its institutional legacy across the world," the statement said.
"For this reason the university has taken the decision to rename - initially temporarily until a full review is completed - one of the buildings in the central area campus."
It added: "The interim decision has been taken because of the sensitivities around asking students to use a building named after the 18th century philosopher whose comments on matters of race, though not uncommon at the time, rightly cause distress today."
The university said the decision was taken ahead of a "more detailed review of the university's links to the past" and work is "considering many other issues beyond the naming of buildings".

'Championed white supremacy'

Elizabeth Lund, who started the online petition, wrote alongside it that Hume "wrote racist epithets not worth repeating."
She said: "Nobody is demanding we erase David Hume from history. However, we should not be promoting a man who championed white supremacy."
She added that Hume's writings should be learned about with context.

"There is no reason the tallest building on campus should be named after him."
Dr Felix Waldmann was the David Hume Fellow at Edinburgh University in 2016, and is now a Fellow of Christ's College, Cambridge.
He wrote in The Scotsman: "There is no question that Hume was a brilliant philosopher, whose writings have shaped modern philosophy and Scottish culture."
However, he added: "The history and morality of the matter is clear: Hume was an unashamed racist, who was directly involved in the slave trade."
