I can take a try with the ancient DNA, but DNA can be just "filler" and be carried much like ancient Neanderthal DNA both in European and Asian populations, 1-4%. During various ice ages, Early Europeans migrated South from extreme cold to the Southern countries: France, Italy and Spain for possible Iberia influences. Bell Beaker cultures predated and overlapped with the Bronze Age, genetically similar to the ethnic Germans today. It is considered the early ancient Germanic peoples. Beaker Ware groups have a certain pottery style that can separate Eastern and Western ethnic groups before metal smiting. Celts ruled much of Central Europe with strongholds in Trier, Hallstaat, and Schweitz. Celtic people are still Indo-european, and the culture changed rapidly under the Roman conquest. This may help: "There appears to have been significant gene flow between among Celts of Western Europe during the Iron Age.[156] Modern populations of Western Europe, particularly those who still speak Celtic languages, display substantial genetic continuity with the Iron Age populations of the same areas." but, from current gene studies, people from the UK today are closer related to modern Northern Europeans than Celts. Celts are also a culture group. Baiuvarii Germanic are the early Bavarian people. The Italian and Roman influences could be from trading routes and expansion or conquests of Central Europe and within the UK. Other invasions and expansions by Visigoths in Northern Spain or other Germanic tribes also influenced the gene pool.
