Norwegian Supermarket To Begin Selling Insect Burgers

The Norwegian supermarket chain Meny will soon begin selling a burger with a different protein source – crickets.

Last year, the supermarket tried selling bread with worms, but that wasn’t exactly a success so they scrapped that idea. Meny’s marketing department apparently thinks that bug burgers will be easier for the public to swallow, Norwegian online newspaper Resett reports.

“It is difficult to see whether Norwegian consumers are more open to insects in a burger than bread, but the link to testing alternative protein sources, such as insects, is probably more closely linked to a burger,” says the communications manager of Menu, Nina Horn Hynne, to the news site E24.

In Norway – just like in every other western country – the people are spoon-fed with “truths” that meat consumption must decrease in order to save the planet.

Some of the office staff in Meny have actually tasted the cricket burger themselves.

“It tastes good,” says one worker at Meny, adding “Crunchy but with a little unusual taste”.

Thomas Rognstad, chairman of Urban Food in Norway, says that cricket burgers are easy to make.

“The crickets have a low need for space, water, and food. We feed them on food waste from the food stores. The crickets contain 60 percent protein”.

The crickets are ground into flour, with a single 100-kilogram burger containing 6.9-kilogram cricket flour.

The cricket burgers will be sold for 299 NOK (30 euros) per kilo. As to whether there will be any takers that will be willing to consume these things remains to be seen. It could very well be that the polite supermarket staff who report liking the burgers stand alone.

Comments on the article may give a hint.

“There no chance in hell I would eat this”, one comment says.

Another one says that “No boycott is needed because there won’t even be any sale”.

Another one says that hopefully the virtue-signaling Norwegian celebs and left-wing politicians will go forward and eat these burgers.

That's like twice or three times as expensive as regular burgers. I don't foresee anyone other than idiots buying these.

Yuck. Wouldn't eat this, even less pay to eat it. But I can definitely see all those climate change hype celebrities, politicians, rich people and virtue signaling leftists and SJWs promoting these burgers, like those who attended the Bug Fest or Crickster in Denmark:

Or Justin Timberlake's bug buffet. The insect menus for that buffet were supplied by a chef/restaurant in Copenhagen where they serve insects. This craze about eating insects has been around here for a while, the Nordic Food Lab promoted it. Someone also made a movie about it, Bugs:

Few years later you can read about Denmark's "vibrant bug scene" in travel guides. Thanks, but no thanks.

Its just jews trying to get white people to eat vile things. They want to reduce us to third world living standards.
You can bet they'll be eating stake every day while we're forced to eat bug burgers.

You're assuming they'll give us a choice in the future.
