Ban Anglo-Saxon? The Push To Remove Anglo-Saxons From Academic Discourse

There is a terrible new development in Medievalism. A push from activists to completely ban the use of the word Anglo-Saxon.

It started with grievance monger Rambaran-Olm complaining that Anglo-Saxon is exclusionary and that AS studies are too white. Her blogs and complaints resulted in the International Society of Anglo-Saxonists (ISAS) agreeing to change its name.

I watched this before. It's bad enough most don't know Hengest and Horsa, just Arthur and Merlin. Let the Welsh have their traditions and us have ours.

That colored woman's and others' attacks on using "Anglo-Saxon" as an ethnically and historically meaningful term is a deliberate attack not only on England's ancient heritage, but that of many early Founding stock Americans like myself, Australians, Canadians, etc. Utter rot.
I was pleased to see afterwards that a long list of academics worldwide including one here in Kentucky signed a statement upholding the validity of the term "Anglo-Saxon" for the early Englisc folk.
"Almost every name belongs to well-known families of English stock....these soldiers were of ancient American lineage"- Prof. N.S. Shaler on the 1st Kentucky "Orphan" Brigade, Confederate States Army

There really is no limit to this nonsense. We can't even have words to call ourselves anymore. The goal is to make it impossible to even have the thought of distinct peoples.
