Eating wild mushrooms is a really, really bad idea. It's just plain way too dangerous.
    Please be careful.

I must say , that I once purchased a book that listed mushrooms , which
had been expensive , but the photographs therein were not very clear .

So it is best to purchase more than one book , when starting with collecting
mushrooms ; just to ensure , that the found mushroom is defined properly .

    Only if you...

1.) don't recognize mushrooms (those I listed above are very easy to recognize). For example have I never picked up these (on the right) as the left one is very poisonous ... can look too similar .... especially as being smaller/younger.

2.) you pick them up in poisonous/dirty environment. Not true in here (deep forest, middle of nowhere), but probably true with most of Europe & USA today.

Wrong ... I would put that this way: I know more things which my ancestors have known versus people who are living in urban cement/asphalt cities.

That's fine, but the best would be if you could go to forest with person who really knows the mushrooms.

The problem with picking and eating shrooms is even an expert would have trouble telling the different kinds apart.
Some of the very poisonous types look almost exactly like the ones people like to eat. If your going to pick things to eat in
the forest don't pick shrooms to eat I'm sure there are plenty of other things out there that wont kill you.

True with some mushrooms (like I posted a photo), but not true with those I will pick up.
