    Landtagswahlen/Federal Elections Saxony, Brandenburg 2019

Vorläufige Ergebnisse der Wahlen in Sachsen und Brandenburg
    First calculations of the results

    Sachsen

    Brandenburg

Particularly funny are the results for SPD (formerly refered to as "Volkspartei") in Sachsen with ~7,4%, still blah-ing about how a "fringe" party like AfD could take away massive votes from all other parties and mobilise many people (roughly 90,000) who did not vote in 2014 because it's all the same shit anyway.

Hey SPD, I've news for you. You are the fringe party now.

In Brandenburg the results are the other way round, SPD gained some ~10% on the last meters to the ballot box by making their campaign a mono-topic rally against AfD. Brandenburg, being "traditionally" left-leaning, it's still a catastophic low result for SPD, and CDU is at half of the result of overall Germany. SPD took the main-share of votes there from the Greens, however, and FDP and Freie Wähler didnt manage to get in either.

In both states Die Linke lost great shares as well.

So have the kosher establishment parties stitched up their cosy coalition against the AfD yet?

I’m afraid that all these electoral victories achieve is to reveal the total sham of ‘democracy'. Still, this is at least something and it must be particularly embarrassing for the CDU to be exposed as nothing like the ‘right-wing’ party it purports to be.

No, they havent. I guess there will be more circus for the next few weeks, remember the last govt coalition took months to form, and now it's three-party coalition in both states. The end result will be that in Brandenburg it will be SPD-CDU-Greens, and in Sachsen CDU-Greens-SPD. Not sure what they need to talk about there LOL.

CDU would not coalition with Die Linke, which would be a favorite partner of the Greens and SPD, but this would probably be only possible in Brandenburg with a minority-govt then and CDU pushed into opposition. Degrading themselves further to be water carrier of a left-extremist govt. Which could at least make for a good entertainment when CDU blows itself apart over it. But this is rather a fringe possibility to happen, I guess it's going to be what I said, because aside all else they want (and really need direly given the recent results) a "stable" govt that they can sell off to the people without losing too much face.

I've now given up watching the political contortions of the establishment parties. It was entertaining for a few decades but once you realise what the game is you soon lose interest

However, the most fiendish thing about 'democracy' is that as fast as people get wise to the deception a new generation of voters appear who are every bit as naive as their predecessors, thus perpetuating the charade.
