Cricket: The Ashes (England v Australia)

Match 3: A tremendous one-man-show by Ben Stokes, who rescued a seemingly impossible situation to bring the series level at 1-1

    Highlights of his innings ...

I see the video has been taken down for 'copyright infringement' but there will be many more to follow

This innings is already being hailed as the greatest ever by an English cricketer!

It’s the fifth and final test with Australia currently leading the series 2-1, and at the end of play on the first day England have made 271 for 8.

    Honours are about even!

Australia all out for 225 on day 2 and England are 9 for 0 in their second innings; a lead of 78 runs.

    Advantage England!

So England win match 5 and the series is drawn at 2-2.

There was a rather weird double celebration at the end because the Australians (as current holders) retained the Ashes whilst the England players were savouring their victory to square the series.

I suppose you could say that everyone went home happy
