I live in a rural area where most homes sit on acreage. There are only poles on the highways and then everything is underground to all the homes. I have a distribution box to other homes right on an easement. The reason for that setup is we are living in heavily forested area.

I presume you reside in a recently developed residential area, so, yes, utilities would be buried rather than stretched on wooden poles as in older areas.

We reside in the first developed local subdivision (called Terracedale) in our area. Our power, phone/cable lines are still above ground, making them subject to destruction by drunk drivers, wildlife, and inclement weather.

If so much of our tax money was not being squandered on ungrateful undesirables, and the military industrial complex, we would have already been on the road to upgrading our basic infrastructure. As it is, only private contractors are available to relocate power lines for utility companies.
Aside from an ever increasing number of mortals who have willfully chosen to worship Satan and his minions, our battle has always been against the powers and principalities operating surreptitiously throughout this twisted world.

You made me wonder when this grid was installed. I checked the distribution box and looked at the label showing an installation date of June 2002.

Our completely remodeled home was originally constructed in 1944. While a private contractor working for Vectren is replacing all of rusty below ground gas lines throughout our community, and Joink is slowly upgrading their service lines and burying them, our power lines are still exposed above ground on wooden poles. Not cool.
Not all in life is at it appears to be.
