'Safe' series, movies and cartoons for little kids.

I'm really struggling with this topic. I can't find safe series, movies or cartoons that are not from early 90s, 80s or 70s.

The most recent ones are those from Ghibli studio.

    Any recommendation?

    Should children even watch TV?
In my days parents would read stories out of books............there was no TV.

The answer for me is no. But they will eventually demand to watch a serie or a movie.
Do you think that a movie like this one is 'safe' for them and their minds?

I was thinking about Anne for a serie.

The "Anne" series would be fine, looks like they are similar to the "Little house on the Prairie" series.

These two Irish animations are good, perhaps not for the youngest children:
    Song of the sea.
The secret of Kells. (It does have a black guy though...)

Not sure how this series will end up: https://www.nrk.no/kultur/nordmenn-l...ney-1.14082382

What is your definition of safe?

There are a lot of old American series from the '60's that were and are deemed wholesome and family oriented, if not somewhat corny or dated by today's standards.

    Leave it to Beaver
    The Andy Griffith Show
    The Beverly Hillbillies
    Lassie
    Father Knows Best

Many more from the '50's too. The 1950"s and early "60"s were considered the Golden Age of Television in the States and most programming from that era was wholesome and family oriented and usually taught a moral lesson about honesty, truth, or other virtue that has all but been forgotten on today's TV programs.

Those are just three off the top of my head. I know there are more that I can't think of right now through the Bitburger.
American by birth, made of parts from Emmingen, Baden-Württemberg.

No "levantine" presence or influence. Modern cartoons or movies like those from the original Disney (until the 60s) that can make a little kid or girl appreciate their european heritage. No violence, scatological and vulgar humor, bad words, multikulti, etc.

Not sure whether they're available in English / Danish, but I quite liked the old (~70s/80s/early 90s) Czech fairy-tale movies, they're unpretentious, atmospheric and well-done imho, many Grimm adaptations.
Here are a lot listed (in German)

Also more modern fairy-tales like Krabat.

This is newer, but stories are pretty old.

Astrid Lidgren's book Bröderna Lejonhjärta as been filmed as a movie (somewhere middle of 1970's). Same is with hers book Ronja och Rövardansen. Not to talking about all Pippi Långstrump films.

Maybe you know it beforehand, but the Danish animated movie 'Valhalla' is quite nice. It is from 1986, though...

The creators of the movie have also made a comic book series based on the same characters and story. I have one of the comic books myself, in preparation for the day I have some offsprings. It's quite well made.
