50 Years Since Death of Brian Jones

Rolling Stones founder Brian Jones 'murdered', his daughter claims

The death of the band's founder is "a mystery" and "wasn't properly investigated", his daughter tells Sky News.

Founder of the Rolling Stones Brian Jones was "murdered", his daughter has told Sky News on the 50th anniversary of his death. Jones, a multi-instrumentalist, was found dead at the bottom of his swimming pool at Cotchford Farm in Hartfield, East Sussex, on 3 July 1969. He was 27.

Barbara Marion, who only discovered that she was Jones's daughter in 2002, also claims his death was not properly investigated.

His death is a "bit of a mystery", she told Sky News close to his grave in Cheltenham.

She added: "I think he was murdered and I think the police did not investigate it the way they should have.

"I would love to have them reopen [the case] and to get some answers."

Jones struggled with drugs and alcohol and had a heavily enlarged liver and heart when he died.

Yes , this event does have some mystery about it with various opinions. I'm not sure what really happened but I can see how it might have not exactly followed the status quo explanation.

I quite like those earlier Rolling Stones things .... once they left the 60's , I guess I'm not as fond.

Jones struggled with drugs and alcohol and had a heavily enlarged liver and heart
probably applies to almost all rockers at that era ;-)

I didn't realise that Jim Morrison died on exactly the same date and at the same age (27) two years later

Many entertainers died at age 27 .. there's a whole concept of this

    Jim Morrison
    Brian Jones
    Janis Joplin
    Kurt Cobain
    Jimi Hendrix
    Amy Winehouse
    even Robert Johnson
    etc

    the "27 Club"

It's either some weird astrological thing or some weird Masonic thing LOL /.... or purely a coincidence ;-)

Oddly enough did you know that Jim Morrison's dad was Rear Admiral George Stephen Morrison of the US Navy ...

Morrison was commander of the U.S. naval forces in the Gulf of Tonkin during the Gulf of Tonkin Incident of August 1964, which sparked an escalation of American involvement in the Vietnam War. He was the father of Jim Morrison, the lead singer of the rock band The Doors

    Talk about bizarre

I did know that. And as far as I know he never got higher than the rank he was because of his son.
Morrison is the only one I'd suspect of actually faking his death just because he was smart enough
    to do it.

That's possible I suppose ... I think when you are inside the entertainment industry it kind of loses it's glamour to many people .
