More Than 80% Of Millennials Say They Donít Know How To Change A Light Bulb

Most millennials donít know how to change a light bulb, a survey has revealed.

A shocking 84% of people aged 18 to 24 said they were incapable of completing the relatively simple task.

In addition, 74% said they didnít have the confidence to assemble a piece of flat pack furniture.

They said they would rather pay someone else to do it in case they ďmuck it upĒ.

The poll was carried out by website Airtasker, which provides a service for those seeking to outsource everyday tasks.

It also found that 82% of young people donít feel confident enough to clean their car.

Almost eight out of ten (79%) said they would not try to paint a shed and three-quarters said they didnít know how to defrost a freezer.

Meanwhile, 73% said they couldnít fix a curtain rail, while two-thirds said they couldnít put up shelves.

Those behind the poll found that young people lack basic DIY skills because they live with their parents for longer than previous generations.

Ana Vitorino, spokesperson for Airtasker, said: ďWhile the older generation were largely content with traditional routine of work, home, marriage, children and retirement, the younger generation have different plans.

ďAnd these plans do not involve bleeding a radiator.Ē

More Than 80% Of Millennials Say They Don’t Know How To Change A Light Bulb
These surveys are made up! They are published merely to instill a sense of hopelessness in us and to encourage the mocking of groups such as 'Millennials', which creates intergenerational discord.

    ^This and the detail

So, you make a poll among people who ALREADY PAY other people for doing such things for them about their (real or perceived, or lack thereof) skills to do such things themselves. Okay... what a surprising result LOL.

I'm going to make a poll among customers in my local DIY stores. I bet the results will be very much inversed, and then I claim "gen x most allround talented do-it-yourselfers"

One just has to look at the number and views of DYI videos on YouTube to get an idea how many people are fixing and doing things themselves. Politics aside this where I really like YouTube, if you need to know how to do or fix something chances are there is a video about it.

Now if I could just find a video on how to rearm that old Sherman tank parked at the VFW I'd be having some fun.
Life is like a fire hydrant- sometimes you help people put out their fires, but most of the time you just get peed on by every dog in the neighborhood.

I think the demilling process on those vehicles are supposed to involve filling part of the firing mechanism. Similar to demilled pistols, where they put aluminum or some other metal into the chamber. "Supposed to" meaning, that in all liklihood, there are some display vehicles out there that have not had anything done to prevent them from firing rounds again, perhaps to only weld the loading door closed, if that.
