    World's Largest Plane

Not that I'm opposed to innovative technological developments if they're truly beneficial to improving life. But just how many different kinds of satellites are being placed in orbit?

Some that I can think of:

    1. GPS
    2. Weather
    3. Thermal imaging
    4. Communications
    5. Navigation

    6. Military? (Hmmm)

And for what real purpose is all of this time, energy, and money being used for in the field of aeronautics unless it somehow involves 'people control', which is the true purpose behind 'gun control' for example?

    Definitely something to think about.

"After years of development in the desert north of Los Angeles, a gigantic, six-engined mega jet with the wingspan of an American football field flew Saturday morning for the first time.

"We finally did it," said Stratolaunch Systems CEO Jean Floyd at a news conference from the hangar at Mojave Air & Space Port. "It was an emotional moment to watch this bird take flight."

Stratolaunch, the company founded in 2011 by the late Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, conducted the first test flight of the world's largest plane.

"I had imagined this moment for years, but I had never imagined it without Paul standing next to me," Floyd said, adding that he whispered a private "thank-you" to Allen as the plane took flight."

"In simple terms, the Stratolaunch aircraft is a giant flying launch pad, designed to hurtle satellites into low Earth orbit. It aims to offer the military, private companies and even NASA itself a more economical way to get into space."

Well the most economical way to accomplish anything would be to invest money into development of new tech. When you see projects like these, where they do a lot of over-engineering and build colossal monstrosities, it's usually about sucking up large amounts of money into the pockets of a select few. It's one of the reason behind the stagnation in sciences (the other being inclusivity).

This giant hauler likely can not use many air fields , due to it's size ,
thus reducing the possible start and landing options .

I honestly would have not made two identical bodies , but one for
the crew and the other body for just the wheels and tires , and fuel .

That would even lower the costs further .
