A no go zone for Norwegians in Oslo

A NO GO ZONE for Norwegians in Oslo:

A bridgehead of aggressive, hostile alien invaders. We are actually paying for this 'Trojan Horse' which will destroy us.

Granted, I haven't been to Oslo for a few years, but Grųnland is in no way a 'no-go zone'. It is indeed packed with racial aliens and women wearing full Islamic tarps, but it's not a place that Norwegians can't move freely and relatively safely in, even though a lot of crime happens there. Even at night time, I've been walking through Grųnland countless of times, many of them being drunk and alone, without any worries. Though, if I were a woman, I'd probably be more concerned.

Oh, looks like Oslo might be worse than Helsinki . I hoped exactly opposite.

If Norway will be lost ... maybe Faroe Islands/Färöarna would still be nice/peaceful place live?

Norway is far from lost, and it has not (yet) experienced the extreme hardships with immigration as Sweden currently do. Fewer immigrants, lower unemployment, better financial condition to support the welfare state, and a slightly more realistic and hard stance on multiculturalism is probably the biggest reasons.

That would be defeatist and silly. Our countries weren't built and defended without hardships, and neither should we inherit them without it. Personally, I'd rather die than see the day Norwegians are driven out of their homeland.

Oh, yes of course. Sorry, I was talking (or ''thinking'') about myself as non-Norwegian person ... one who (as active outdoor person) simply adores your country's sceneries. Selfish me ... sorry.

But I would be immigrant there just a same ways as anywhere (except Sweden).

    No worries. No offense taken.

I wouldn't say you would be "just another immigrant" in Norway. Norwegians and Swedes have a close relationship, and don't regard each other as 'outsiders' in any meaningful way. Even fully ethnic Finns are very much viewed and treated as fellow Northerners.

In my own experience, I don't think I'm viewed or treated any differently in Sweden than a native ethnic Swede would be. Some off-hand jokes and poking fun at how I speak sometimes, but all in all, I feel I have been very much welcomed and taken in as one of their own. A lot of older men also confiding in me that they don't like foreigners coming to Sweden, except my kind. I think a Swede settling in Norway would have very similar experiences.

I have a friend in Oslo who used to live nearby that area. This was some years ago, I don't know how things are at the moment, but back then she told me she had no problem to go through that area, even at night, and even if she was alone (and she looks very Norwegian). Another female friend of mine was going very often in that area as well, shopping from immigrant shops because it was cheaper. I even went there with her once or twice, and it wasn't that bad. I don't know how the situation is now, but I think things are a little big exaggerated about Norway...

It's up to us if Norway will be lost or not... I have faith it won't be the case. It's still much better than Sweden at the moment, and we still have time to reverse things and to stop them from getting worse...

Exactly! You know better than me how Sweden is, and can make comparisons.

I didn't encounter problems as an 'immigrant' in Norway either... With just a few exceptions, but people like that are everywhere (I also had and still have 'problems' in my country of origin for having German ancestry, so...). I was also told by older Norwegian men that they don't like foreigners coming to Norway, except me, because I have Germanic ancestry (some of them have been to Romania many times and know many Romanians and they said I don't even look Romanian to them, but I'd rather fit in Norway than in Romania, so I'm very welcome to Norway). Of course there are also people who are 'more racist than Hitler' who don't like me being here, but well, it's their own problem... Strange people can be found anywhere, so I don't mind. I know better than them where my place is.

Finnish Swede, I'm sure you'd fit very well in Norway too... It's up to you to decide which is the best place for you to be!

I know .... I have been Norway several times. Local people have been very friendly to my dad (Southern Swedish), to my mom (Finnish Swede) or to me.

Going into an immigrant area and walking away without an issue does not mean it is "safe," just that you were lucky. Keep chancing that and you may find yourself not so lucky. I would avoid them if possible, if you must go through one then I would be quick about it and hyper aware of everyone around me. Don't let them get behind you and so on. I do not and will not ever trust any of them.

^ I agree with that, fjaran!

Personally I avoid such places too... But just to make a comparison, I can compare these kind of places with places inhabited by Gypsies in Romania (according to my own experience). Of course none of them is desirable... In Romania I would avoid Gypsies (and not only Gypsies) all the time, watching my back and my purse and my pockets all the time, as they can appear out of nowhere and steal from you or beat you out of a sudden to steal what you have... I've been cautious about such things my whole childhood because of Gypsies, each time I was going out, going to school or coming back from school, or just going out to play, or even at school in the breaks between classes... It was hard even for the school guards to keep the Gypsy children under control to not bully other children or beat them or steal their money...

For me personally those third world-ers in Norway seem to be much more peaceful and civilized than the Gypsies in Romania...

So watching my back and be cautious all the time is not such a thing in Norway as it is in Romania, for example...

Romania is more dangerous, when it comes to Gypsies, in my opinion...

Gypsies can attack anyone, anywhere, it can be in the middle of the city, not necessarily in their own districts (who dares to go there anyway?), doesn't matter where, you have to be cautious all the time...

In Norway I feel so much more relaxed... less things to worry about...
