The moss myth... I noticed in Norway moss grows on all sides of the trees... But in Norway we're in the North, aren't we?

But not only in Norway moss grows all around the trees:

As a child I used to believe this myth... until I checked it out myself with a compass to see if the North was really on the side where the moss was... and sometimes it was, sometimes it wasn't... So... it isn't that helpful to look for moss on the trees... Much better to have a compass and a map instead!

And about the brown bears, Romania has lots of them... if you go in the mountains, especially in some certain places, there are high chances to meet one... They sometimes come to the cities too to look for food... But they don't attack humans unless they are provoked or... if there's a mother bear with bear cubes that can be dangerous to encounter...

My grandfather met bears and wolves in the wilderness many times... he was from the mountains...

A woman from the mountains told me to make lots of noise while walking alone in the forest, because normally bears avoid people and they will avoid me if they hear me... I followed her advice, I was singing all the way and I didn't see any bear in my way... That area was and still is very populated with brown bears... To be honest, I was more afraid about meeting humans than bears while walking alone in the woods... Humans can be more dangerous than wild animals...
Die Farben duften frisch und grün... Lieblich haucht der Wind um mich.

Oh yes I always carry a clean white towel to filter my drinking water.

It's much better to find a hollow tube something (tree branch, discarded water bottle, even metal can). pack the end with sand first then crushed charcoal allowing the water to drip through as slow as possible, then boil it.
Life is like a fire hydrant- sometimes you help people put out their fires, but most of the time you just get peed on by every dog in the neighborhood.
