I used Ancestry DNA and I was shocked at how well it matched up with my family tree.

43% England, Wales and Northwestern Europe
    30% Germanic Europe
    15% Norway
    10% Sweden
    2% Ireland and Scotland

Some of the terminology might be off. For instance I have Danish but no Swedish ancestry but I'm assuming that was just thrown in as Swedish. Overall though I was impress, I thought that they would throw in a trace of Amerindian or something for sure

AncestryDNA doesn't have a category for Danes, so your Danish ancestry is probably just included in your percentage of 'Germanic Europe'. Also, your 'Swedish' percentage might very well just be a result of your Norwegian ancestry. I got 46% percent 'Swedish', even though all my known, recent ancestors are Norwegian (going back around 150 years).

But is it worth taking the DNA test there? Is there any cheaper and better option?
MyHeritage is owned by Jews and run from Tel Aviv. They are probably the cheapest company out there at the moment, but they are supposedly more suitable for Jews (as they make up a large part of their customer base), and not so precise for Europeans.

That is certainly more than enough to feel certain about one's ancestral history, but still, DNA testing shows how much of one's own genetics is inherited from the different regions of one's ancestors. Not that it necessarily matters, in the grand scope of things, but some people find that interesting.

I just assumed that my Danish was thrown into Swedish. I have a Danish and a Norwegian Great Grandparents so about 25% Scandinavian as reflected in the DNA results. I'm 1/4 German plus I have some German and Dutch in my Colonial American side so 30% seems pretty accurate there
