At least in the United States, normalising mental illness has a direct connection to gun confiscation.

However, I have difficulty in quantifying the ability for any group of people being able to manipulate (steer/guide) society in specific directions, mostly due to how complicated and impossible it seems to be. Whether or not this societal change is organic or guided doesn't change the fact that governments have taken steps to disarming people who have certain health conditions and/or take certain types of prescriptions.

I was pleased to hear Theodore Dalrymple mentioned. Spoilt Rotten: The Toxic Cult of Sentimentality, Life at the Bottom and Our Culture, What's Left of It are all excellent books.

It never occurred to me that this could be part of some master plan. I personally think that mental illness has simply reached higher levels than ever before and is therefore something people identify with and want to see represented.

There is the fact that the handling of mental health is changed. Now, more than ever, people with classic mental health issues are given medication and released back into the population. In years past, people were more likely to be locked away from society in hospitals. Do those still exist? The only mental hospitals I am aware of around here are either abandoned or former facilities that have been converted into hotels and business space.

We also have to be aware that with an internet connected world, things can have the appearance of being more prevalent. I have doubts that is the case a lot of the time. Sometimes I think some of these things only seem so because we are made aware of it, rather than it being more common. Even 20 years ago, there was no way to know what the common person was doing or thinking unless they were shown on TV or had a story in the newspaper.

Our whole society treats people like children and people are surprised when they start acting like children.
The jews want weak people they can control the problem is they cant run a society with people like this.
You cant run a society filled with shrieking children and no adults.

Psychiatry is a lucrative racket. As Gareth says, it's all about the money honey.

When people are feeling depressed, they need to get angry, because only those who really love them give a shit. The ones being paid to pass out pills sure as hell don't care. It's all about a big fat paycheck to these quacks!

    Sad. But true.
Not all in life is at it appears to be.
