Most of Hungarians don't appreciate immigrants and minorities - Academical research

Most of Hungarians cast off Romas, Arabs, Chinese and Romanians. A sociologist appearing on Hír TV said: approximately 75 percent of the population agrees that immigration makes crime-rate rise, and at least 50 percent believes that immigrants take jobs from Hungarians. As for relatives, the least acceptable are Romas and Chinese, for marital purposes the most likeable folks are the Polish and Swabians.
According to the study carried out by the Hungarian Academy of Science, only 8 percent believes that all immigrants should be granted entry into Hungary, 30 percent would deny entry to everyone and the rest would introduce a strong selection process.
It can also be stated that zero tolerance grows by the age, and is also related to party-preference. Voters of the liberal SZDSZ are more likely to accept non-Hungarians, while supporters of right-wing MIÉP do not at all accept minorities and immigrants.
Sociologist dr. Endre Sík said: "The fear of strangers is not only a Hungarian speciality. It exists in all parts of Europe at the same level as well. This fear is also backed up by several things: not only the media, not only politicians, but also the experience of common people. It is therefore interesting how the hate, or fear is related to the separationism.
In Budapest one can find a jewish a chinese and a roma district. It's questionable whether hate or self-determined separation made these possible. Foreigners living in Hungary are surely doing a lot not to assimilate with Hungarians who therefore fear them. In september for example a new Chinese school opens, but we already have separate schools for Arabs, Roma and Jewish schools.
