AfD Wins 11% of the Bayern Vote

And comes in fourth in the exit polls.

All I have is what I'm listening to on D-W.

CDU and CSU took a beating. The CSU lost their absolute majority.

A good result for the Greens; slightly disappointing for the AfD.

So will something change in Germany now, or?

Will Merkel and Social democrats (present government base?) face more challenger times?

No, Merkel is the secret winner of this election. The Greens push for more open borders so that's full in line with Merkel.

With the results for CSU, the party will topple Seehofer. While Seehofer is what we call a wind bag and is essentially useless, he at least sometimes tries to be ... hm, a "decent" man, who still has some kind of heart for Germany. He doesnt have support in that from his party though, which rendered his moves void. They will blame their loss on him to get rid off him, which they already try for several years. I was reading around in newspapers where one CSU member already in public demands that he drops his party leader position tomorrow (when the final results are out), or he'll be driven out in January on the annual party meeting.
Söder, who will then take over, or rather his family, earned themselves a golden nose with the asylum business, so he'll quite certainly welcome more migrants. Typical business/capitalist "conservative", the German version of NeoCons basically.

In terms of federal-level politics, only the loss of SPD may have some effect, but certainly not for the better. CDU-Merkel will use this probably to suppress them further, which will in turn lead to more Kindergarten-politics (yelling and beating on stuff in mental meltdown like a 3 year old in a supermarket, see the Chemnitz-Maaßen case) from SPD in a desperate attempt to get heard. These squabbles will become a smoke screen for things Merkel does or things like the "Global compact on migration", but no longer get attention. So it will make things even worse than they already are.

The "Freien Wähler" (free electorate or somesuch) are just another pro-EU and more EU-integration party, not even sure why they are an own party.

While it is sort of a sensation that AfD got ~11% there, still 89% voted for the rest of equalised parties where you get the same old shit, only in different colours.

The most likely coalition seems CSU + Freie Wähler and, if they get in, FDP (economic liberals), which basically will be like CDU-FPD coalition under Kohl reloaded.

In the wider scheme of things nothing will change, if anything, Merkel won more support, not less.

The elections in Bavaria have had several votes as first personal vote and second party vote .

    The Greens in Munich gained 5 direct personal seats , two of the candidates of Turkish names ;
the CSU gained four direct seats . One of the Green victories in Munich is just 0,1% ahead of the CSU .

The overall impression was , that the votes were level with the General Elections 2017 outcome in Bavaria ,
except that Greens and Social Democrats have shifted percentages :
The Green's voters in Munich of 910 thousand voters overall were very risky and almost always voted
both votes to the Green's candidates and party , just 2000 votes more for the direct candidate , than for the party ,
because there were a couple of crazy small parties , who could have gotten one of the Green's votes .

But it seems that they recounted the votes , and my numbers from two days ago are not
    right anymore .

Overall in the Metropolis of Munich , the Greens have ⅓ of votes , and the liberal FDP has more votes than AfD ,
and the The Left has still less than 5% , but is rising , indicating a wealthy region .
