I'm a 30 year old husband and father of 3 in the northern part of Georgia. I have always had a passion for ancestry and history. I'm primarily of Dutch heritage/ethnicity based on oral tradition from grandparents, paper trail, and DNA testing. I have multiple ancestors who were some of the first founding settlers of New Amsterdam in America during the 1600's. My next large wave of immigrants to America were primarily from the Palatinate region in the mid 1700's. They first lived in the "backcountry" of Pennsylvania and New Jersey and moved further south and west with each generation. That's pretty much how I ended up in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia. I also have a fair share of Scottish and Swiss/French Huguenot ancestors who basically mirrored the migration routes of my family from the Palatinate. I work as a flight paramedic/nurse on a helicopter and have worked in emergency medicine and the fire service since I was 19. I look forward to learning from everyone and sharing information as well.
