    Rethinking Infidelity

I don't personally condone infidelity. But it occurs more frequently throughout society than some would like to admit. And why does it occur?

Sure, we can put it down with snappy one-liners such as "Kick the cheater to the curb because they're no longer worth your effort" kind of attitude. Or we can more closely examine these cases with a more analytical approach in an honest effort to better determine what causes this sometimes baffling form of bad conduct.

Anyway, the following video is well-worth watching from beginning to end:

"Infidelity is the ultimate betrayal. But does it have to be? Relationship therapist Esther Perel examines why people cheat, and unpacks why affairs are so traumatic: because they threaten our emotional security. In infidelity, she sees something unexpected — an expression of longing and loss. A must-watch for anyone who has ever cheated or been cheated on, or who simply wants a new framework for understanding relationships."

“A dying culture invariably exhibits personal rudeness. Bad manners. Lack of consideration for others in minor matters. A loss of politeness, of gentle manners, is more significant than is a riot.” Robert A. Heinlein
