Just make sure your children marry the right kind of folk, and not just any other race or races, otherwise all your work would have been for nothing.

    Post Re: Re: Suicide

I don't want to be old. Genetics offers the only solution and we're not there yet. Maybe you look forward to everything that comes with old age but I do not. I stopped wearing diapers when I was 1 y.o. I don't want to start wearing them again when I'm 70. Nor do I want to be dependent on others for everything. I've been independent my whole life and will continue to be.

    @ cosmocreator

How old are you now? I vaguely remember you mentioning something like 39 in another thread - my memory might have failed me though. I believe 39 is still young.

You are seemingly an intelligent man, and not bad looking (although I wouldn't know - I am not a woman to judge). The point I am trying to make is this - you still have time to start a family and subsequently alter your current view and dissatisfaction with life. Life can be better than this... surely. Also, if you would manage to find a suitable female partner, you might have a different view on getting old. Retirement in partnership with a female, and growing old together, can be something worth while... considerably better than the alternative. Add to that the possibility a younger wife could give you an offspring, it makes it all the more exciting.

    What do you think?

I'm 38. I don't consider myself old. I said I don't want to be old. Yes, a younger woman probably would change my view on committing suicide. But I still don't want to be old.

Not meaning to discount the rest of your post -- maybe I'll get back to it. But I've thought about this. I don't think it's actually a fear of heights but a fear of falling. Can you go to the 40th floor of a building and look out the window?

Actually, I'd prefer to be physically 20 again.
