Fundamental Differences between Germanic Ethnicities?

I have often wondered what most people here consider the fundemental differences amongst the Germanic ethnicities aside from their specific national boundaries. What constitutes their separate yet similar cultures?

The mainstem of Germanic ethnicities seem to be Ingaevones, because we're not cooped up in any particular region. Istvaeones, Irminones and Suebi or Bastarnae all seem local variants of Germanic particular to the Continent and absent elsewhere.
