Hamburg Süd purchased CCNI in 2015

Hamburg Süd itself had been owned by the Oettker family , which sold it to the Danish Maersk recently .

CCNI changed name to CMC .

The shipping company controlled by Chile's Urenda family, which until this Tuesday was known by the historic Compania Chilena de Navegacion Interoceanica (CCNI) will now be called Compania Maritime Chilena (Chilean Maritime Company-CMC), starting this week.

The change of the company name, logo and branding name for advertising purposes, of the company controlled by the Urenda family, comes after the sale of one of the relevant business of CCNI: the container shipping, which transferred to the German Hamburg Süd.

Large Container Carrier 'CCNI Arauco' once caught fire during mooring in the port of Hamburg ....
The CCNI Arauco is a large container ship that experienced a major fire in the Port of Hamburg on September 1, 2016.[1] The vessel was only a year old, having been built in the Philippines, in 2015, at the Hanjin Subic Shipyard.[2]

It took four days to extinguish the fire.[3][4] Authorities took the risk of flooding her holds, and breaking her back, due to thermal shock, when local fireboats couldn't extinguish the fire.
