    My Internet Explorer is unstable

My Internet Explorer has grown increasingly unstable over the last few weeks and its now almost impossible to surf the web without crashing every 15 minutes or so. I've noticed that the crashes only occur when I try to enter something (in the Address bar, for example, or in the text fields of the USER CP); it works sometimes, but it usually doesn't. Could someone please help me out or suggest another (preferably free) web browser? My IE is fully updated, by the way. Thanks a lot.

Have you swept your computer with an anti-virus/anti-trojan program?
Sounds like it could be caused by some malicious program.

Also, I changed over from IE to Opera as my default browser which has the benefit of being immune to many malicious programs designed solely for IE

I would suggest Mozilla FireFox, it's free, it's the one i use, and it's great.

Or else Opera is also a very nice browser. But if you like IE's engine, I suggest Netcaptor, it's not free.

Avant Browser is the Browser I use the most and is the one I suggest. It uses the IE Engine and IE Settings are Inherited however it has much more features. The handiest of the features is the use of an MDI System which allows all browser windows to be integrated into one window, then you only need to click arrows in the menu to move between windows and you are left with one item in the taskbar instead of loads.

    http://www.avantbrowser.com

It is freeware by the way (the last I checked at least).

On Linux I used to use Mozilla.

I usually don't like that browsers, it's mainly due to the fact that they come with loads of options that are only memory-consuming and one rarely uses them. That's why i like FireFox, it comes with very few options, then you just choose to install which ones you would like to have.

The Internet Explorer is the slowest browser to use, I use Mozilla firefox it is fast and reliable.

I also use netscape and opera which also are fast and reliable, Mozilla and netscape are the best.

I also run Mozilla Firefox. It's wonderful!

See Why You Should Switch to Firefox and check out its great help site with extensions and tips & tricks.

But Opera is even worth buying. Those Norwegians invented most of the best browsing features and are worth supporting.

Thanks everyone. I've just installed Mozilla and though it doesn't look as good as IE, at least it runs properly (which is what really counts, after all). I've also removed a whole bunch of adware, but that did not solve the problem, unfortunately.

When I first down loaded opera it was great, and it still is good and I still use it.

But when I up graded it to the 7.54 it came back with minor bugs which I did not have on the original browser, but I am sticking with it because I like the way it works and I know they will eventually correct the problem.
