Russia suggested as new starting point for South African farmers

American Renaissance has an article about not maintained soils
    in Russia .
A delegation of 30 South African farming families has arrived in Russia’s farmbelt Stavropol Region, Rossiya 1 TV reports. The group says it is facing violent attacks and death threats at home.

Up to 15,000 Boers, descendants of Dutch settlers in South Africa, are planning to move to Russia amid rising violence stemming from government plans to expropriate their land, according to the delegation.

    ...

Russia has 43 million hectares of unused farmland, and has recently begun giving out free land to Russian citizens to cultivate farming. The land giveaway program, which began in 2014, has been a huge success.

But there are warnings in the comment section of this article :
There are hordes of illegal immigrants in Russia already, many millions of them, largely from the former Soviet "stans".
Government does not care - police collect bribes from illegals regularly,
you can see it on the street sometimes when they stop them to "check papers",
and big guys who own large corporations such as in construction and agriculture want cheap and,
in the reality of Russia, nearly slave labor to enrich themselves - no different from large corporations in the US.
Read another thread on Russia on this site, current big and growing problem with illegals and 3rd worlders
in Russia was discussed in detail in that other article's comments section.
Russia by the way became one of the largest exporters of wheat recently ,
demanding farmers there that the government should build silos ,
and without the crops would be left rotting on the fields .
Russia might still need to import meat products ,
but is also improving amounts of home grown cattle .
Russia might need some motivated and experienced farmers to
reach it's goals for self sufficiency, though .
If these are 15'000 families or 3'000 families @5 persons is not clear to me .

During the most recent nine-month period, Egypt, traditionally the biggest importer of Russian wheat, took in 4% more than it did for all of 2016-17 while Turkey, the second biggest importer, took in 63% more, UkrAgroConsult said.

The biggest increase in Russian wheat exports during the July-March period was to Indonesia, which imported 1.14 million tonnes compared with 344,000 tonnes in all of 2016-17, a threefold increase, it said.
