Pope Francis: There Is No Hell

There is no hell, there is the disappearance of sinful souls

In another interview with his longtime atheist friend, Eugenio Scalfari, Pope Francis claims that Hell does not exist and that condemned souls just disappear. This is a denial of the 2,000-year-old teaching of the Catholic Church about the reality of Hell and the eternal existence of the soul.

The interview between Scalfari and the Pope was published March 28, 2018 in La Repubblica. The relevant section on Hell was translated by the highly respected web log, Rorate Caeli.

The interview is headlined, The Pope: It is an honor to be called revolutionary. (Il Papa: un onoreesserechiamatorivoluzionario.)

Scalfri says to the Pope, Your Holiness, in our previous meeting you told me that our species will disappear in a certain moment and that God, still out of his creative force, will create new species. You have never spoken to me about the souls who died in sin and will go to hell to suffer it for eternity. You have however spoken to me of good souls, admitted to the contemplation of God. But what about bad souls? Where are they punished?

Pope Francis says, They are not punished, those who repent obtain the forgiveness of God and enter the rank of souls who contemplate him, but those who do not repent and cannot therefore be forgiven disappear. There is no hell, there is the disappearance of sinful souls.

The Vatican already denied the Pope having ever said this and is angry with the journalist who interviewed the Pope, they say he made it all up. The journalist in question is known for inventing quotes or at least lacking evidence in the form of tape recording to back up his articles. I'm not entirely sure who we should believe here.

Although I am not Catholic and do not really care for Popes, this one is really taking the cake. I can understand why people are up in arms about him. According to vaticancatholic.com, a site/video channel maintained by pre-Vatican II Catholics, the Pope has also claimed that the devil does not exist. From there to hell not existing is only a small step, I suppose. Maybe he said something similar and the journalist embellished it, or maybe the Vatican is just trying to sweep things under the carpet because Francis is embarrassing them.

Another interesting video from the same source:

    "Atheists can't be saved":

Whatever the case, he seems to be subservient to the new world order and create a multicultural and multiethnic religion encompassing Jews, Muslims and atheists. He is trying to water down traditional Christian doctrine by supporting many modernistic ideas and adjusting Christianity to include sinners. For example, he tried to encourage priests to give communion to the divorced and remarried, or to families where unmarried parents were cohabiting. Not to mention his support of migrants, his moves to re-examine the churchs teachings about sex. It looks like almost a quarter of the college of Cardinals believe that Pope Francis is flirting with heresy. Some Christians believe Pope Francis is even the Antichrist.

I would not kiss this guy's hand or step inside his church. That said, it may well be that he's only a pawn in the bigger game and someone else is puling the strings.

Vatican Refuses to Disavow Popes Alleged Denial of Hell

In reaction to reports that Pope Francis has denied the existence of hell, the Vatican has released a carefully worded statement that does not refute the substance of the claims.

Mr. Michael Matt, a traditional Catholic, is getting so frustrated with Jorge Bergoglio and the Vatican, it's really hilarious.

"We are getting to the point now where, at the very least, everyone has to admit that this poor old fellow is the most incompetent Pope in history, and I say that in all charity."

This is a placeholder for a signature.

I sincerely doubt that he actually said any of this. His actual misdeeds at least have some kind of discernible "logic" behind them, this is just too space cadet-tier.

Papistry is all about double-speak and covering all bases, arguing from all sides, so that they are never wrong. It's okay for them to be self-contradicting, but wrong for you and I to call them out on it, also wrong to deviate from their delusions of grandeur, wrong to go our own way as they do. "Do as I say, not as I do", is their mantra. Rome has a modus operandi of absorbing all beliefs and churning them back out though their filter, but unless this, that and the other thing is spin-doctored and copyrighted with a Vatican seal of approval, one must wait on hand and foot for illumination and permission to live life. In some cases, this may take hundreds of years. Inconsistencies and double standards are par for the course in their absolutist world. I value my soul too much to outsource my afterlife to their wherewithal. God would hold it against me were I to abandon responsibility for my own conscience and blame others for violations of His intentions. Nor would I blame God for my lot in life, as many Romanists do and it is absolutely disgusting for so-called Christians to vilify God like He is Satan, whilst they engage in self-ruination and that of others to the joy of Hell.
