    Do You Smoke?

    Do you smoke?

Personally I find it disgusting and unhealthy. Three out of my four grandparents had cancer, one lung cancer, one testicular and the other breast. Cancer is not something to take lightly. My grandfather with Lung Cancer died painfully over 4 years, it was an unwinnable fight. My other Grandfather, that had testicular cancer, smoked untill he had a heart attack. The doctor told him that he'd have to stop smoking or he could die. He stopped smoking. He is still a live at 79 years old. I hope that you all don't smoke, and or looking to quit as soon as possible. We need our race to be healthy.

My uncle died on lung cancer over a one year period. It truly is one of the most disgusting and idiotic things one can do. If you address someone because of this habit the usual reply will be "I know people who smoke since 50 years and still they are healthy".
Well, I know people who smoked for only 10 years and they are only cripples now.

I don't think blaming smoking for Cancer (Cancer as in general terms, on any part of the body) is justified. People who have never smoked in their entire lives can get cancer. Bad eating habits, modern lifestyle, pollution etc are just as harmful.

I admit I am a smoker and I do want to quit....but yeah I am weak spirited I guess and am going to say the usual thing....."wish I'd never started...it is too hard to stop the habit"

I think the world/society should consider other subjects, such as the polluted air we are ALL breathing...caused by the need & greed for humans whims, lusts & comforts..which in turn is DESTROYING the earth (& giving us the cancer). Spending millions of dollars on anti-smoking campaigns (they couldn't give two hoots about people's personal health)...yet cutting down thousands upon thousands of hectares of trees, forests & bushland.? :...I am just a Suicidal Greenie..I guess..

I don´t smoke, but tried it in my wild teens. eyes:
I absolutely love the new anti-smoking law just put into action here in Norway. It´s now prohibited to smoke in restaurants, pubs, clubs etc. People have to stand outside to smoke. (Schadenfreude...)

I smoke. I wish I hadn't started and I may stop one day but to be honest, I just derive too much pleasure from it
There is only one certainty in this world, and that is you will die.
If I die due to a smoking related illness, then at least I will have derived years of pleasure from it

Still, I agree that non-smokers shouldn't have to breathe in other people's smoke. That's why it's the non-smokers who should stand outside in the fresh air.
What next? Banning alcohol in pubs because it causes liver cancer and alcoholism? Nobody forces them to drink in pubs, I assume they have houses of their own?

I don't smoke. It's a disgusting habit. I also don't drink alcohol or do drugs. Even limit my intake of refined sugar and caffeine.

Tried it once and that was enough for me.
We seem to have some very health conscious people here.
At my College about Half of young folks smoke. Guess Phillip Morris wouldn't go out of business anytime soon.

Unfortunately I smoke Drum tobacco. About 50 ciggarettes a week. I stopped once for 7 years and started again. I am an idiot! :icon12:
