    Winning Formulas for Health (List of Food Additives to Avoid)

    This page has a good summary of the food additives to avoid. I was surprised to find out that table salt has aluminum in it.

    The advice to avoid wheat reminds me of the Paleolithic Diet, where beans are avoided in addition to wheat.

    I know of a flatmate who swears against MSG but often it is so difficult to find foods that don't have a large amount of additives - especially in a students price range!

    I think a good way to feel healthy is eating less processed foods and more 'raw' foods such as fruit and veges.

    A lot of American style pizza has MSG or Sodium Nitrate in the meats. In addition, the crust has wheat in it, which is #8 on the list.

    Pizza should be made with low fat cheese, and no trans fat in the crust.

    This link has information from Robert Willix, MD, about which foods to eat. He has an updated version which he calls a "food diamond". He seems to be favoring healthy oils, fresh vegetables, water, and fresh water fish. Then he rounds out with fresh fruit, and a few grains.
