    Classify Miguel Serrano

Chilean writer. No recent non-Spanish descent discernible, but his claims regarding his own ancestry were:

Is this a questionable claim for a noble Spaniard? I'm inclined to think yes, but phenotypically he definitely does seem highly atypical for a Spaniard - but perhaps not atypical for a Spanish noble? There aren't many pictures - especially of Serrano in his youth - which are very useful for classification, but I've tried to compile some below.

"Considering your specific duty as a kshatriya, you should know that there is no better engagement for you than fighting on religious principles[...] either you will be killed on the battlefield and attain the heavenly planets, or you will conquer and enjoy the earthly kingdom. Therefore get up and fight with determination. Do thou fight for the sake of fighting, without considering happiness or distress, loss or gain, victory or defeat--and, by so doing, you shall never incur sin."

The Spanish Nobility, the "Hidalgos" are the descendant of the Visigothic and Swabian (!) overlords of Hispania. Yes, a group of the Swabian tribe did not stop by the Danube, but they come with the Visigoths to Hispania. They had own kingdom in North-West Hispania till the Visigothic Kingdom conquered. Hence he had both Visigothic and Swabian ancestry. The Spanish word "Sangre Azul" means "Blue Blood" is the base of many word of many European languages to noble. The origin of the words are simple as the venes of the light skin Germanic conquerors were showed and made the skin is white-blueish, but the dark skin of the local inhabitants made invisible this colour.

At the first see his oval eyeshape is typicall Nordid, the high standing forehead, the middle-thin convex nose, the half-full lips, the middle-strong cheeks and jaws show that he may was Reihengräber/Proto-Nordid, the gracilisation of the North-Cromagnoid and the way to the later forms as the Trönder or Göta-Hallstatt.

"Remember that, even when those who move you be kings or men of power, your soul is in your keeping alone. When you stand before God, you cannot say, "But I was told by others to do thus,"or that virtue "was not convenient at the time." This will not suffice."

Serrano might have well had some Germanic ancestors but after about 1500 years that would be true for the inhabitants of all places were at least some Germanics settled. So it’s actually kind of irrelevant.

Galicia seems like the best example where you could find some Germanic influence. But strangely, even the Y-DNA distribution there lacks specific Germanic lines(like much of I1, R1b-U106, R1a(all of it only in Spain)) which speaks against any stronger influence. It’s actually even apparently less than in some other regions.
Even if it was found, most of the rest of the Germanic “genetic material” would have still been utterly diluted by now.
Being a Colonial, it’s even more unlikely that even most of his ancestors were nobles.

In any case in him it’s not enough to influence his phenotype as I doubt he could pass as native anywhere east of, say, central France. It's somewhat strange that apparently so few pictures of him in younger years seem to exist, though. It's always hard to classify elder people.

He reminds me of this Atlanto-Mediterranid example from Coon(Concidentally also from Galicia), in any case:

But Serrano seems seems somewhat broader/robust headed. There might be some Cromagnid strain to account for that but I can’t really pin point it, as I’m not too familiar with southern phenotypes.

He also reminds me somewhat of the Portuguese Dictator Antonio de Salazar:

    On the left:

At the first see his oval eyeshape is typicall Nordid, the high standing forehead, the middle-thin convex nose, the half-full lips, the middle-strong cheeks and jaws show that he may was Reihengräber/Proto-Nordid, the gracilisation of the North-Cromagnoid and the way to the later forms as the Trönder or Göta-Hallstatt.
Do you ever classify anyone not as Reihengräber Nordid? Europe must be truly some Nordid paradise…

The one thousand year (Teutons and Cimbers 100 BC - Viking Invasion 1000 AD) of the Germanic Migration Period (Völkerwanderung) has made the situation that huge mass of Nordid Germanic population had spread in this continent. Under the years in the territory of the formal Roman Empire they have assimilated to the Latins, in East-Europe they have assimilated to the Slavs or Hungarians, but these genes still has held in whole Europe.

The basic Germanic type is the Reihengräber what are the most common in the graves of the Migration Period, hence in the real life this had held a very common type in the whole continent.
