Five Germans Charged for Operating 'Neo-Nazi' Website Altermedia

German prosecutors have charged three women and two men for operating "Altermedia." The website spread hatred against foreigners and denied the Holocaust.

Prosecutors on Wednesday pressed charges against 48-year-old Jutta V. and 28-year-old Ralph-Thomas K., key figures and ideologues for the internet portal "Altermedia."

Three others, a 54-year-old man called Uwe P., 63-year-old Irmgard T. and 61-year-old Tamara S. were also charged.

All five have been accused of being members of a right-wing terror group, inciting hatred and denying the holocaust. They are all currently free pending trial and will be soon presented at a court in Stuttgart, prosecutors said.
According to federal prosecutors, the website, "Altermedia" was the leading right-wing extremist internet portal until the beginning of last year, when Jutta V. and Ralph-Thomas K. were arrested and the website banned simultaneously.

Lawyers said the two operated the website as administrators together with a third person, whose identity was not known. The rest of the members joined in in the following months.

The website's servers were initially based in the United States and then in Russia. According to prosecutors, the two key figures, Jutta and Ralph-Thomas posted articles in "Altermedia" to "systematically" spread Nazi ideology among the masses. The website called for violence against foreigners and also denied the systematic extermination of six million Jews by Nazis during the Third Reich.

The website called for violence against foreigners
This was the only relevant act, this is forbidden under US law. And it also has nothing to do with 'foreigners', it is just not allowed, and it is punishable, to stir up violence publicly, no matter against whom.

All the rest is FRG bullshit blabla.

If the website´s server was based in Russia recently, it could hardly have violated US law. This circumstance could not have been the reason why the server was closed.

I think the Russian Altermedia server never was closed by the German authorities. It was closed by the Russian authorities because of urgent request by the Germans after having investigated the website´s German operators.

First: we do not know when exactly the clamp down was executed. When a person changes the server on which his forum is hosted, he would not change his own residence at the same time. So, if the FRG agents requested the IP address of the forum owners from the US authorities, and US authorities gave it to them, after the forum was moved to another server in another country, the actual residence of the forum owners would have been in all likelihood the same as before.

Second: time and over and over again I am amazed, I am astonished, and outright horrified how German males can forget that the East Coast joos and the Kremlin joos were in alliance against German 'fascism'.

If someone thinks we can get help from anybody from anywhere: he is mistaken.

Does anybody know the actual reason for the shutting down of the website ? The above quoted newspaper article only stresses that "the website called for violence against foreigners“, but does not clearly state that this was the reason for the shutting down.

It is - to my mind - more than doubtful that this was the real cause for there had been websites in the past, more radical ones which had not been handed over to the German authorities only because of "calling for violence". Comparing with other similar websites, Altermedia also was one of the moderate ones.

I guess it was a post about someone saying that Germans should get pepper spray and use them massively on foreigners. They won't have enough prison places for them.

Honestly I know never that the Altermedia would be Neonazi. Thiazi was obivously Neonazi, but the Altermedia was far more conformist than the Thiazi. Next time the Skadi will be Neonazi, after the AfD will be Neonazi, after Merkel and the CDU/CSU will be Neonazi till Germany will be a communist totalitarian dictatorship.

Blah! Blah! Blah! More and more anti-nationalist garbage from Deutsche Welle!

Well, the problem isnt Deutsche Welle, but German "law".

I'd assume that the real reason behind shutting down the site and the verdicts really lies in §130, the Volksverhetzungsparagraph (incitement), even though only one of the verdicts makes direct reference to it, and actually, considering the possible sentences from this paragraph, it's a rather "mild" sentence. Denying the holohoax alone can give you 5 years without probation.

Apparently, they tried something else though, to "prove" that "incitement" leads to actual violence, and that they formed a "criminal association" (kriminelle Vereinigung), implying that they organised more than just a website. They picked out 30 exemplary cases of posts with comments full of verbal offenses and tried to make a case out of this collection.

The judges apparently did not really follow the set "story line", else the verdicts would be much harsher. There are laws for holohoax denial (§130, which also effectively forbids any kind of scientific research of the case!), there are laws that makes website owners responsible for comments of users on their website, there are laws for this or that and criminal association, and the main culprit still "only" got 2,5 years.

Which says that the "anti-right-wing show process" sort of failed. Not totally, but certainly the process did not produce the result the driving forces behind had wished for.
