    Germanic Animal Collections

Which is the best zoo in Germany? Koeln, one of the Berlin collections, Walsrode? In England it must be Chester, and in the Netherlands either Artis or Rotterdam.

In German Switzerland is it Bern, Basel or Zurich? What about Austria and the Scandinavian peninsula?

I can't find where exactly this is. It just says "a small zoo in Switzerland." If this cat is friendly to most strangers like this, it might be interesting to visit:

    Petting a Lynx

    Petting Mojak the Lynx

    Petting Mojak the Lynx II

In Norway we have Kristiansand dyrepark in the south (The most famous.) There's also some cool German WW2 things to see down there. https://www.dyreparken.no/ http://www.vestagdermuseet.no/kanonmuseum-2/?c_id=9

Namsskogan, in the middle of Norway: http://www.vestagdermuseet.no/kanonmuseum-2/?c_id=9 They have bear, wolf, lynx, different foxes, wolverine+++

There might be other wolf sanctuaries etc, but I've only visited these two.

In Switzerland, the biggest and most famous is the zoo of Basel. As a kid I've been to the "bears park" in Bern to see the brown bears but it has certainly changed in 25 years so I can't tell if it worth the trip or not. I found that the videos posted by Huginn ok Muninn come from the "Johns kleine Farm" in Kallnach village in the canton of Bern. It seems a small zoo run by a family so I guess you can have more opportunities to pet the animals... There are many of these family run "little zoos" across the country. I have no idea which ones worth a visit though.

If you want to see wild animals, there are also many colonies of marmots and alpine ibex in the Alps. Alpine ibex are usually relatively easy to watch if you have info about where the colonies are.
