Trump Hopes to Get Along with Russia, Knock the Hell Out of ISIS Together

U.S. President Donald Trump Mark Makela / Reuters

In an interview to Fox News on Friday, Trump said it would be to the advantage of both Russia and the US to mend ties and pool their efforts in the fight against terrorism.

Speaking to Sean Hannity of Fox News, US President Donald Trump said that he looks forward to speaking with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.

He called me after I won, but I havent had a discussion, but I understand we will be having a discussion soon, Trump told Hannity.

On Friday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Trump and Putin will have a phone conversation on Saturday.

Trump again reiterated his intention to pursue good relations with Russia, pointing out that it would be mutually beneficial and would allow both sides to step up the fight against Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS, ISIL).

I dont know Putin, but if we can get along with Russia thats a great thing, its good for Russia, its good for us, we go out together and knock the hell out of ISIS, because thats a real sickness, he said.

Trump has repeatedly spoken of his desire to mend relations with Russia, not excluding the possibility of lifting the sanctions against Russia in the future, depending on its contribution to fight against terrorism and cooperation on other issues, like curbing nuclear proliferation.

If you get along and if Russia is really helping us, why would anybody have sanctions if somebodys doing some really great things? he said in a recent interview to the Wall Street Journal, saying that he did not see any problem in holding a meeting with Putin.

I understand that they would like to meet, and thats absolutely fine with me, he said.

Last week, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the much-anticipated meeting between Putin and Trump is a matter of months rather than weeks. It wont happens in a matter of weeks. Lets hope that it can happen in months to come, Peskov told BBC, adding that Putin will be ready for the meeting whenever it occurs.

Eversince 9/11, America has been "knocking the hell out" of several Islamic countries. Bush also used strong language "let's get those bastards" or something like that. The truth is, if Americans really wanted to annihilate groups like ISIS, they could have done so long ago. However a state of constant conflict and war serves some interests, so they need to keep that conflict alive. American couch potatoes who live in their TV bubble believe their country is the most powerful in the world and that it's waging war to bring democracy to third world countries. But Trump, like all previous American presidents, serves the interests of another state and power.

He is not clear on what to do in Syria. He says this, working with Russia, and then says he wants to make (more) safe spaces in Syria and have no fly zones, the same thing Clinton said... which is not "working with Russia" since Russia already has no fly zone in that country.

I think he is more talking about ideas, we'll see what actually is done.

While I agree with the views of America being in a constant state of conflict and Trump serving another power. You have to realize that Americans are also fed up to large extent of being the so called "super power". Where you are totally wrong is that America is in fact the most powerful in the world, whether that is good or bad is debatable. I know I don't mind the fact that if America really wanted to it could defend it's borders against all comers, but I don't like the idea that we should be involved in everything.

There is definitely something to be said for being by far the biggest guy on the block. No one messes with you. Cato the Elder used to end all his Senate speeches with "Carthago delenda est," which means "Carthage must be destroyed." When Carthage finally was destroyed, Rome had no rivals to its power and was able to reign for 500 years. When Britain became the superpower in 1815, it ruled, mostly in peace, for nearly 100 years. When European countries started worrying about a "balance of power," war became inevitable.
Most people think as they are trained to think, and most people make a majority.

I rather ask President Trump how many more time engages he the American Liberals to devastate Germany. Where will be the point when those people left the country and Germany will be able to a peacfully national state. Germany's industry and commerce stronger and stronger with each days. There will be a point that President Trump will must call back the Liberals from the German administration. He understands that the World Peace is only successful with Russia, I hope he will understand a balanced, peaceful Europe is only successful a free Germany.

Oh but the US is not the most powerful state in the world. The state of Israel is. Think any major conflict and even many minor conflicts during most of contemporary history and what advantages they served. The US, like modern Western states serve the interests of Israel, including when these are conflictual with your own internal or foreign policy. Trump is no exception. He is part of the New World Order and is there to keep the right wing in check. Perhaps Trump will be more rebellious than the other presidents and keep some of the promises he made, but only so far as he doesn't openly contradict the interests of the New World Order. Trump, like many European right wingers opposes Islam and the "third world" but promotes Judeo-Christian values. Some people see that as a positive, but Christianity is yet another tool used to promote immigration.

Perhaps rebellious so he would not look like the part of the NWO to the average Joe, enforcing his cult of personality. And when the time comes to die for Israel many will do it with a smile on their face serving the "god-emperor".

Power belongs to those who can and want to seize it.

Since the American government is the strongest in the world and there are more than 70 million armed American citizens ( a low estimate ) it is really the American people that are the most powerful. Americans are as free or powerful as they choose to be. The media does a very good job at keeping the American people blind, if Americans would wake up and realize that they are being controlled and they have the power to take control it would be over without much of a fight. The problem is most Americans are content to spend their dollars at the shopping malls, watch sports, and take their vacations in Florida. As long as they have these things all else is OK to them, that is really the sad state of Americans.
