As long as I can remember really, from a young age I knew where I was from and which people I belonged to. I had a great interest in Norse and Celtic mythology from a young age.

I remember identifying Anglo-Saxon traits in myself before I even knew what the term actually meant. Funnily enough I've also always found myself at odds with my surroundings and felt I was born in the wrong time.

I can't really remember when or through what it was introduced to me, just that it is something that was always there through blood.

I learned about by myself , by just asking myself the question : where do I come from ?
I remember watching a documentary about the Migration Period Germanics when I was 7.
I didn't understand about what the people where talking in the documentary , but I just 'felt' that I was descended from those people they where clearly talking about. But since I could not read maps at the time and I didn't know anything of the tribes , I thought I was a mix of the various tribes described (Goths , Burgunds , Franks , Vandals , Jutes , Danes , Swedes..).

From English history, celebrated by the WASP American freedom fighters of 1776, that saga of Hengist and Horsa as told by Bede. This background in combination with Beowulf and understanding of my Viking surname roots as a lad all led to an adult appreciation of greater linkages later explored with academic overviews inclusive of all Völkerwanderung and Ostsiedlung, down to the 30 Years' War, 19th century Romanticism, followed by the peak 20th century Germanic global hegemonies of England, America and Germany.

Over time. I can't remember a single moment when I thought only in terms of specific nationalities and general whiteness one moment and then read or heard something that made me feel otherwise. The more I learned and experienced, the clearer the concept was and the more it resonated.
