I'm on a hunting and fishing trip so here is what I have been eating.

So far this trip I have been eating this:

    Deer Jerky

    Tough as rubber wurst

Now that the fish have started biting I get this:

    This

    Plus this

    equals this

Fried Smallmouth Bass, Pike, Walleye, and Perch

Most of time the only fish I eat are ones I catch and cook.

Todays lunch is roasted chicken, flødekartofler and beetroot salad.

    The flødekartofler are done:

Zwiebelrostbraten. Burned onion with beefsteak and potatos. It is my favourite.

I enjoyed some sautéed cabbage with some baked chicken for dinner (mid-day meal). Don't know what I will have for supper.

I love Zwiebelrostbraten. There is a great country restaurant in Vorderbüchelberg. There I have eaten the best Zwiebelrostbraten. The portion is so big, I usually order a Seniorenteller. There is a small salad bar available and all kind of sides. An ice cold Kristallweizen and the meal is complete, for me anyway.

I took off work early today to go have dinner/lunch with someone.

I had BBQ pulled pork with salad and a beer, she had BBQ ribs with roasted red potatoes, corn and salad and soda. She could eat twice maybe even three times as much as me and if we ever go out again( which I doubt if I have anything to do with it ) it would get expensive. I thought she was even going to try and take a bite from me. Strange part though I thought she was just wanting to be friends and nothing more, damn I'm dumb on what women are thinking. Had I known she was wanting to go on an actual date type of thing I would have never went.

As a note to you single men, if a girl ask you out for lunch and she picks a place like an "all you can eat" BBQ......run away, run away very fast as it cannot end good.

Well at least she knew me well enough to know that I love BBQ pork. But still run and in fact don't even answer if she calls you in the first place and it could avoid a whole problem altogether. Stay in your cave and never come out, they are nothing but trouble anyway.

    Vegan lunch today.
Mushroom and spinach risotto. I played a bit with various herbs and it turned out nice.

I'm mainly vegetarian, although I'm partial to a good piece of fish, prawns or mussels.

However, as far as plants go I love, love, love globe artichokes.

Apparently it's one of the most healthiest and medicinal plant foods:

Artichoke contains the bioactive agents apigenin and luteolin.[2]

The total antioxidant capacity of artichoke flower heads is one of the highest reported for vegetables.[3] Cynarine is a chemical constituent in Cynara. The majority of the cynarine found in artichoke is located in the pulp of the leaves, though dried leaves and stems of artichoke also contain it. It inhibits taste receptors, making water (and other foods and drinks) seem sweet.[4]
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artichoke

Usually here they are prohibitively expensive.
    About R40 a globe.
And then people who never eat them say you throw half of it away, so for that money we rather get broccoli, or something else.

However, we're just in the artichoke season here where you can get two globes for R25.

Oh flip what a treat with a nice dipping sauce.
    Any suggestions?

P.S. Did I mention that I liked artichokes?

Olive oil, vinegar and mustard dressing of course!!!

    - Whisk mustard and vinegar together with salt and pepper.
    - Whisk in oil and a drop of water to soften the acidity (water optional).
    - Optionally add finely chopped chive or parsley

Quick and easy. Use 3 parts oil to 1 part vinegar. Adjust the mustard to your liking. I've never eaten artichokes with another sauce personally...
