Why Borders Matter, And a Borderless World is a Fantasy

Victor Davis Hanson - Los Angeles Times

... Undaunted, the Left continues to cherish the vision of a borderless world as morally superior, a triumph over artificially imposed difference. Yet the truth is that formal borders do not create difference — they reflect it. Elites’ continued attempts to erase borders are both futile and destructive ... People walk, climb, swim, and fly across borders, secure in the knowledge that boundaries mark different approaches to human experience, with one side perceived as more successful or inviting than the other ... Clearly delineated borders and their enforcement, either by walls and fences or by security patrols, won’t go away because they go to the heart of the human condition ...

The one thing I've noticed about Trump is the potential that can be realized when someone is willing to lead, and it's amazing how many people now are repeating his line on borders. It certainly helps if you are a billionaire with a big mouth, flaming hair, and charisma, but Trump's unmistakable appeal has brought most members of his own party along, and many others who are sick of the anti-white communist elites who only want poverty and death for our people. European nations need their own Trumps to win there, and the global elites really should shut up and let us have them if they know what's good for them.
Most people think as they are trained to think, and most people make a majority.

Unfortunately, the Republican party establishment wants illegal aliens as illegals for cheap labor. The Democratic party wants illegal aliens so the can be registered to vote as soon as they dry off. The happens by the million. The media supports illegal aliens because the Democrats do and they think it is hip. So we have Donald Trump against everyone except the people of the United States.

Shadow - If Hilary wins what do you think will happen to A) the GOP and B) the Trump movement? As a Brit I'm hoping Trump wins, but I'm hoping a new strong European-American movement will grow out of the Trump phenomenon either way.

In the 1990s when Bill and Hillary ran things we had a great economy--a great economy for stock brokers and truck drivers, everyone else had two jobs, I had three. When Bill zoomed down in the polls, we invaded the Balkans for some reason and killed many people. The Clintons blamed everything which went wrong on white men. They made a nationwide list of white men who stored food or bought a gun. These were their targets. The Clintons, not Bush, began tapping the telephones illegally. The Clintons proposed tax increases and targeted whites. The Clintons began the slide, culminating with George W. Bush, of big government oppression.

Trump agrees with none of this. It is a make America first mentality, a nationalist movement. Nationalism first is the thing that binds Trump to Brexit, for instance. Nationalism was repressed in Europe at the expense of globalism. There is no national need to absorb millions of third world useless feeders and that is another common concept.

The GOP is dead. I am not voting for any Republican but Trump. The others are just dead to me. After the election there will probably either be a acknowledged realignment in the GOP or a new populist party.

Trump will negotiate a trade deal with the UK, probably first. He wants a separate trade deal with each country. When Trump says "deal" this is a deal in the new modern sense, not a zero sum gain. There was a concept ten or twenty years ago of the win-win negotiation. This is the opposite of imposing your will upon another. It is finding out what the other guy really wants, telling him what you really want, and aiming the deal at providing both. This is what Trump would do in terms of trade.

Anyone can see Trump's displeasure with the Cold War alliances. NATO is outdated. Both the US and the Europeans need better relations with the Russians. The Germans have always wanted this. Nobody wants to confront or go to war with the Russians. So why not improve things?

If Hillary wins? There are really two USAs. We Trump supporters have our issues. Hillary and the left have their issues. We don't talk to each other. It is as if there are two languages here. Hillary is not Obama. Obama is a bright guy who is just wrong on most things. Hillary is pure evil. If Hillary wins, there is no more United States as far as many people are concerned, including myself.

As an observer from the UK I'm hoping for a new European-American movement to come out of the Trump campaign. Maybe the Alt-Right milieu could play a significant role in that.
