Norwegians Call on UK to "be Brave" and Leave EU

BRITAIN has been urged to “be brave and cut free” from the European Union by one of Norway’s top MPs.

The Scandinavian country — which twice rejected EU membership in 1972 and 1994 — has been widely used as a test case for how the UK could fair if the nation opts for a Brexit.

Today some of Norway’s leading politicians and anti-EU campaigners call for Brits to step out of Brussels’ shadow, saying: “You won’t regret it — we haven’t.”

Trygve Slagsvold Vedum, leader of the Centre Party, one of the country’s opposition parties, told The Sun on Sunday: “My message to Brits would be to believe in yourselves and take the plunge.

“Norway is proof it can work on your own. We rejected EU membership and we’ve never looked back.

“Many people thought it would be a disaster, thought we would be isolated in business and left behind by the rest of Europe — but that hasn’t been the case. In fact we are better for it.

“Britain should be brave and cut free from the EU.”

Of course there is always the change the EU will act like a sour loser. And try to make life difficult for the UK. Because they will be afraid more countries will follow the example. And therefore could spell the beginning of the end for that bureaucratic nightmare.

Of course one could point out that Norway is prosperous because of its energy reserves it can export. However I will refer to Iceland, who came out of the banking crises a lot better then the EU for the time being it seems.
The sense of honor is of so fine and delicate a nature that
it is only to be met with in minds which are naturally noble or
cultivated by good examples and a refined education.

Or Switzerland, which has few natural resources to speak of. Most rankings place Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, and the two non-euro Nordic countries Sweden and Denmark, on the top of wealth and prosperity rankings. The core Euro countries are always lower down the list.

Leavers need to talk about the EEA and EFTA countries more (and debunk the lies the Remain side tell about these arrangements). As I've posted in the main EU ref thread, fears about the economy are the pro-EU side's strongest card. Take that away from them and they have little left.
